Build week has disappeared!

Featured Replies

My dealer is very concerned as my build week given in June has now disappeared. :(

Anybody having the same problem???

Cheers

It isn't a problem as such, it is just the way the factory seem to be working. I've had a number of them do this. I wouldn't be suprised if it came back by the end of the month.

Nice model you've chosen by the way, Muscovado and Gobi is lovely!

Thanks James!

Getting really keen to get the car now I am retired and treating the ex company Octavia with kid gloves so i can get a decent price ! driving round most of the time in wonder womans flying machine fabia!!

No problem!

If you get your dealer to check about the 29th of August I might come back again as status 20 confirmed WK36. Unless there is a temporary supply issue with 140DSG or something, either way I don't think too much will change on your order.

Can confirm what James is saying, as mine was one of his that went AWOL for a short while. Started at WK05 before progressing in stages to WK17 with a short absence in the middle, finally built WK14.

Oh woe is me.... happening to me too!

In mid July I was given a provisional build week of week 37, mid September. Today I'm told I no longer have a build week. I am told the factory is back at work following their holidays. I hoped that my car would be ok as the builds must restart after the hols so only 4-5 weeks to me... but I've gone. Been waiting 21 weeks now, will they pull their fingers out to save a week 28 £300 goodwill payment!!

I do think it gets harder the nearer it gets!!

Good luck Maffa..... keep us in the picture please.

Incidentally, 2 weeks hols in northern Italy and only saw 2 monsters despite looking hard!

In the end, having waited so long for my SM, I was happy for it to go over the line that qualified me for a £300 payout! It was worth the wait, and I was better off into the bargain!

Likwise here. I was able to add two options that did not exist when I ordered (the electric chair and the DSG). I also got £550 compensation due to the lateness of the car itself and the folding mirror fiasco! So all in all I was happy having waited and having had the chance to change my mind on things (including the car's colour!)

BUT that still does not make it easy for people in that place now. It is very annoying not knowing what is going on... Things went easier for me once I got the build date confirmed I have to admit. Before that it was hell. Good luck.

Well we've got an idea of when the Greenline Yeti is arriving... November.

For a vehicle ordered on the 21st March.

Let's hope it's not late.

Fair play to the dealer for not giving us false hopes though and holding off giving us a build date that would be unrealistic.

i don't understand the long delay in the builds,

is it they have so many orders for LHD yeti's they see the uk RHD models easy to push to the side as we are a relativley small market?

or have they seriously under estimated its popularity, but if that was the case they have had more than enough time to organise additional production capacity

or are skoda's masters in VAG limiting them in some way (like the number of dsg gearboxes or number of each model engine?)as skodas market share has been increasing and vw/audi has decreased

just a thought

Work this one out then...

Skoda Yeti petrol DSG took 6 months, arrived last September.

Skoda Fabia Greenline II took 6 months, arrived in January.

Skoda Yeti Greenline on order is going to take 7 months.

And yet the Audi TT-RS I just ordered will only take 3 to 4 months. :wonder:

Clearly Skodas have become too popular!

How can an Audi come (probably) twice as fast?

Probably as simple as the fact that far more people are buying a yeti compared to the tt rs I'd have thought! The tt rs was never going to be a big seller surely.

Yes, but then production capacity would be a lot lower surely?

I'd have thought it evened out with supply and demand.

Oh well...

Usually it's down to rave reviews in the press though, that's when manufacturers seem to get most caught out from experience. The tt rs had a pretty luke warm reception comparatively. The yeti seems to fit the bill for many different situations and has engine and trim configurations galore.

Well any factory can only churn out X amount of things relative to its capacity which is related to its size, workforce and amount of shifts it is running. You can thus scream blue murder as hard as you like but Kvasiny won't be able to churn out any more than X amount of Yetis a month... And due to the huge demand there are plenty of people ahead of you in the queue to get theirs. And Győr in Hungary might just be running well under capacity and thus they can build more TTs to meet demand and customers get their cars faster. Győr only makes the TT, A3 Sportback and A3 cabrio. So not exactly cars that have a huge demand at the moment so easy to see why it can deliver a car in 3 months. The time to build each Yeti or TT should be roughly similar.

Checked today with dealer and my BW has advanced 1 week to week 45.... happy days.

For anyone waiting on delivery, the dealer called me this morning to advise that the system was updated on Wednesday and my build week is now showing wk 42, advanced 3 weeks.

Perhaps the factory has went into overdrive since their holidays.

Just been looking at a July copy of the ETKA parts catalogue, which suggests the allocated and projected chassis numbers allocations at Kvasiny, should reach approximately 40,000 form start of MY12 to the end of the this year. For MY11 they reached approximately 35,000 in the same period if I'm reading the data correctly.

Oh on current predictions WK42 (October) then your chassis number could fall between C6030334 and C6036430 :wonder:

Sounds as though things might be moving as the doctor said to the constipated patient.

My dealer had a visit from a man from Skoda UK who is going to look into my order.Evidently when they give an initial build week (which has now disappeared) you are on status 10 and then 2 or 3 weeks before actual build you get a confirmed date and become status 20.I am currently status unknown.

Presume when the car arrives you move to status delirious (happy as a pig in muck).

I await another call if any news as they are checking daily for any update. If no news I am to expect a call telling me there is no news on 22nd Sept.

I have so far been very pleased with the contact from Claybank even though there has been now`t to report.

Happy days! :)

Octavia and Fabia both washed and polished gleaming in the sun!

I'm waiting a little less patiently for news. I checked today with SUK and whilst I am on the system there is still no date, provisional or otherwise! I was given Wk 37 but it disappeared and there is still no sign of anything new. They just said the lead time for my monster is 6-7 months. Well I'm 22 weeks (almost) so surely news must be imminent? I'll wait till early September and try pushing the dealer for info. I have had nothing from them unless I contact them - which doesn't breed confidence! I'm dropping the lad in Cardiff at Uni in mid September and was hoping.... now I realise there was never a chance!

Mine didn't disappear - it just changed from Week 36 to Week 38

Felt a bit sad for you until I checked my situation following disappearance from system in mid August. I ordered in Week 12....... eventually provisional build date of week 37. Then it disappeared only to reappear today (or sometime in the last few days) with a provisional build week of Week 43!!!

Think you are doing better than me! Yes, I realise it can change again... for better or worse. If mine stays the same dealer reckons delivery mid November..... making it about 34 weeks from order to delivery. But I keep reading it's worth the wait.

On another note, wouldn't it help everyone waiting if we could access a system and track ourselves? Wonder how many times a week SUK and dealers are asked to check the system by waiting customers!!

Seem to remember reading somewhere on the forum that a couple of dealers are set up for customers to do their own checking. Wonder why others can't? Think I'd be on daily!!

It would be a great idea... but I suspect it will never happen because it is the ONLY thing the SUK Customer Services people can do with any confidence. Look up an order number and read what it says next to it. ANYTHING that involves vehicle mechanics, the innards of a car, logic, deduction or common sense is well and truly beyond them. So lets not take away the one and only thing they can do well. Poor petals. Imagine not having those thousands of calls coming in daily asking where buyers' cars are in the system?! Their whole call logging system will go to pot as it will show them doing no work. Can't have that.

you cynic! :giggle:

I've still got no idea how the hell I managed to place an order on Saturday for a car sitting in Emden for immediate delivery in the colour, spec and engine size I was looking for. How on earth can they have crazy lead times like people on here are reporting and at the same tiem have cars sitting in Emden?? When I was at the dealer on Saturday there were 4 yetis ready to order, a 1.2 elegance (which I ordered) and 4 x 1.8 4x4s. It just doesn't make any sense. :wonder:

Yes even my build date (which I can access myself!) has come down 3 weeks. Seems it is updated every Wednesday.

The petrol cars ARE available for almost immediate delivery according to my dealer.
