Touchscreen cleaning

Recommended Posts

A dry microfibre cloth should do it. Or a cleaning cloth for glasses.

I certainly wouldn't use any cleaning agents on it. If you find some slightly more stubborn marks, I'd use a piece of slightly dampened kitchen towel on it, then dry off with an MF cloth.

Wardy....Have tried dabbing with a wet bit of towel but when it dries it just streaks!!...micrfibre is too dry i found and doesnt shift any dirt!! I would have thought there would be a special cleaner for it!

Fair enough - least you tried :)

In that case, some non-alcoholic monitor screen cleaning wipes would do the trick. They might still dry with some streaks, but then at least the dirt/marks will have shifted, at which point you can take the streaks away with your microfibre :)

Have some screen wipes here, if you want me to send you some in the post to try out emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I'd say that was more specialist than other suggestions! Oh the irony :)

For home windows I use newspaper and vinegar....

And I wouldn't use a window cleaner, that's formulated for glass, on TFT/LCD screens.

Hi

My Local VW dealer has screen wipes in a kit. It comes in a pack of 10 sachets 5 wet and 5 dry. wipe on and wipe off. I found they do a pretty good job. I'm not sure if they sell them but they put them in the glove box of every new car. A friend I know who works in there and acquires some for me occasionally ;)

Brasso Gadget Care.

Can get it in Sainsbury's and it's foooking awesome. Leaves the screen looking really nice and puts an invisible coating on it which helps resist fingerprints.

I use it on my Columbus as well as my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, PSP and TV

I bought 6 of them recently so i have a nice healthy stock.

Not sure if it's silicone it puts on the screen (it may well be) but it is invisible whatever it is and it really does resist light fingerprints etc. I used to have to clean my phone 3-4 times a day as i have quite oily hands. Now i clean once every 2-3 days.

Been away in Europe camping past few weeks. The local hand wash has done a fantastic job inside and outside including the touch screen. I've used a computer wipe or a mist of deionised water followed by a microfibre cloth for DIY. Works on satnavs as well.
