Snow foam of choice?

Featured Replies

Howdy all,

I am currently in the habit of washing my car with a pressure washer, as a prewash before a handwash.

For the past few months i have been using Turtle Wax Pressure Washer Solution with the pressure washer and its done a reasonably decent job, although it does struggle with lifting heavy dirt.

My bottle of Turtle Wax is coming to its end, so i was thinking of replacing it with Snow Foam that seems to be all the rage. I was wondering what the reccomended snow foams are, as i have seen some comments which suggest that the cheaper ones are a bit useless, whilst some of them seem to cost far more than i am prepared to pay.

Thanks for the reccomendations in advance

ValetPro PH neutral snowfoam for me. I use it with a tiny squirt of shampoo in the mixture. Loads of places sell it and plenty of folk seem to rate it.

One thing to note is that without a dedicated foam lance you wont be able to generate the really thick "shaving foam-like" foam that will really stick to the car.

Autobrite magifoam and Chemical Guys no touch snowfoam seem to be all the rage on detailing world and getting good reviews. TBH you would be better of with a good degreaser rather than a snow foam as the snow foam doesn't really do much

On that note, does anyone have any experience with Tutlewax Big Orange.

I know its not a snow foam, but it seems to be dirt cheap (pardon the pun), and given the relatively positive experience ive had with turtle wax pressure washer solution its caught my eye.

Good to see another Poolie on here Anthony!

Cheers

I think the main advantage of using a decent snowfoam (as well as limiting the amount of contact in your wash process) is that as well as removing dirt and Traffic film they won't (by and large) degrade any last stage protection you have on the vehicle. A decent degreaser may well seriously shorten the lifespan of any wax/sealant you have already used. After all a lot of people use a degreaser as part of their regime when it comes time to remove the LSP from their car to start again.

But if you aren't using any LSP then don't worry.

:) theres not many of us about on here. i'm not too sure on big orange, but if you check in b&q occasionally you can get 5L of the stuff for £2

Im using I4detailing citrus snow foam (last time i checked anyways) smells good and it loosens dirt much better than the normal stuff.

+1 on ValetPro with the added squirt of shampoo (Megs Hyperwash)

Bilt Hamber for me.

I have a gravel drive and a lot of planting in

the front garden so a biodegradeable snow foam is a must.

Bilt Hamber here as well - the reason being it was the only biodegradable one I could find!

Used Valet pro, not that impressed. On to Autobrite magifoam which seems to work well, nice banana smell too.

And another vote for Bilt Hamber Autofoam here too.

Just about to order my 2nd one, first lot has lasted me just over a year :)
