anyone tried emaps or angel

Featured Replies

Both these companies quoted me £300 for a remap and they come to your home address .Seems like good value , anyone any experience of these companies ?

Angel are in trouble me thinks - another post on here the other week stated they may have been in receivership or something. They remapped my punto years ago and it wasn't great. Stick to known experts such as Shark Performance. May cost a little more but Ben knows his onions :-)

Angel have been supposedly in "trouble" for a long time but still seem to keep going.

Whereabouts in the UK are you?

I used e-maps for a remap of my BMW 330d, the service and map itself were really good, all of the flags that BMW look for when a car has been remapped were reset and the remapper 'simon' really knew his stuff and he looked for any fault codes or any problems before starting his magic. The car was much improved afterwards, more responsive etc etc

Obviously my experience was on a BMW, but I would happily use them again.

I used Simon at E-maps for my 525d m sport really great guy and does a diagnostic check beforehand which threw up a load of issues before mapping (camshaft sensor and 6 glow plugs :dull: ) but the map its self was awesome, glad to say there is now a Scottish e-maps agent and would use the e-maps service again, (thinking of another BMW)

"diagnostic checks" are something any mapper should carry out........................

You'd be surprised how many actually dont!

I think I,m going to go with emaps . I also had a bmw they had a great rep for mapping them ,should be ok with Skoda too . They claim 250bhp ,sounds good to me !

Which model do you own? Petrol vRS I presume? TFSI or TSI?

Its a petrol vrs Wardy, Ithought they were all tfsi ?

Depends which naming convention you're using really, as Audi confuse things by continuing to use the TFSI badging.

As far as Skoda is concerned, the FL models have a revised 2.0TSI unit fitted - increased efficiency, lower emissions. Also better gains when remapped.

I see, mine is a 2006 model so its the original engine .

Yep, TFSI - so I'd expect around 235bhp from the stage-1 remap.

If he tells you 250hp then hes full of ......

Agree, the most you can expect is 230 to 235 on tfsi. On the tsi it's nearer 260.

Also try Revo as it's been well tried and tested on that engine and forum members of the past used to really rate it.

I used Angel on my previous Octy. Went like a bomb.

Thinking of doing it again...if they are still going of course!
