Kick in the teeth part duex

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As you know I crunched the front of my car the otherday. Ever since the shunt there has been a funny noise coming from the car and 3rd was becoming a struggle.

Whilst on the work today it felt like a real effort to move the car with the clutch. When I got to the bottom of my road I hit a really deep puddle at a fair force and there was a conk from the gear box. I drove off and it seemed fine until I had to pull away in first on the clutch.

Got to work and thought nothing of it. Went out to the car after work and I can't get in any gear, so my self diagnoses is that the clutch is ******. The peddle still goes down and springs up and the gearbox is still moving but as I was trying to get into reverse there was an almighty conk.

So talk to me, how much is it going to cost me and what are my options?

Accident causing clutch problems? I'd check all the mounts especially the dogbone mount then the subframe. Sounds more like something's either bent or broken :(

Or maybe check if uv lost all ur fluid?

IT turned out to be my clutch. It had seized so I ended up with a new clutch.

Went for a single mass conversion, £180 for the kit and £140 for the fitting. So not to bad?

Since I have had it switched though I am finding it hard to get in to 4th, 5th and occasionally 3rd. It doesn't happen all the time but I didn't have this issue prior to my new clutch.

Is there anything that could of happened. I will go back to them tomorrow and ask.

try re aligning the linkage as when they moved the box it might of moved the ends on the lines,

check utube lol.

piddle to do and takes 5 mins

Seems easy enough.

The length of the clutch seems longer now. Is there any way of adjusting that? Would a quick shift help the feeling or just make changing gears quicker when I finally push down the clutch and bring it back up?
