Welcome and enjoy the wait. Great colour choice, great engine.

Welcome to the fold. The time soon passes by the weeks roll into months and before you know it the Yeti's on the driveway. Plenty here to keep you entertained and if you have any questions here's the place to be. Enjoy the build up.

Hi!

Oh yes, thats the right choice indeed!

I went to the Skoda dealer in order to buy a Candy White, but as you discovered I had to wait for 6-7 months,

so when the Platin grey suddenly became available I bought it.

The color has grown on me, so now I do like it, but I still think that the white one is better looking. :)

Welcome, you've made a great choice.

Ps I also would have ordered Cany White but bought the dealer's grey demonstrator instead because I didn't want the 6 week (!) wait.

The grey has grown on me and looks really good IMHO.

Welcome to the Forum - the wait for the vehicle is torturous but they say it's worth the wait.

What really rubs salt in the wound is glimpsing a quick view of the occasional Yeti and realising that you still have a way to go before getting your hands on one.

I think I have read every post on this Forum since April and have made a seperate Favourites folder for any Topic or link that I think will be handy when I eventually get it - although I have yet to receive a confirmed build date.

Several members have been insrumental in my choice of options and Winter tyres to whom I am very grateful - for instance I have been helped immensely via Private Messages (PMs) by Llanigraham, The Plumber and even James from Allams, Dealer (in Skodas, not drugs :giggle:), who, even though he knew I would be purchasing from a different dealer, still went out of his way to give best advice.

We picked White because it was a colour (shade?) that didn't appear to be popular at the time, however, it does seem to be the new 'in' colour! Plus when the kids get married soon it can double as a wedding car  not that SWMBO would let that happen

Anyway, I digress, welcome to a painful and horrendously long wait and get used to embracing the green eyed monster of jealousy as you pass them on the road and read the posts of those who already have them!!! emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Hey John,

Are you a Geordie? Cany White. Wye aye man, that's a dead canny colour to have hinny :giggle:

Hi and welcome,

sure you will enjoy the new Yeti when it arrives and a excellent choice of colour :) Previously own an early production 140 in Corrida Red, which I really liked. However I think the white more suites the Monster, particularly now I've had the new one a few months.

SMOC in the case of the Yeti is the Snow Monsters Owners Club and as you have a Yeti and frequent Briskoda then your automatically a member :)

Also got a Candy White Elegance on order for March, though mine will be the 170 as I'm used to that in my current (and previous!) vRS. Just over six months to go!

Great colour and choice. I'm so impressed by ours I could go on for ages, but I'll keep it for another thread !

Enjoy - when it does arrive, you strangely forget what all the fuss was about during the wait !

Welcome and be patient; the wait will be worth it. ;)

Bye the way, which of the Z4 or Jazz will you be forgoing? or will your Yeti be an addition to the 'family'?

My condolences. I sympathise with you having to wait until January for your wobbly white box.

Guys,

Thanks for all the responses to my post - this looks like it will be my new 'go to' website for several months, as I look forward to my monster arriving. My next door neighbor also has a Yeti, so I get constant reminders of what I can expect....

The Yeti will be replacing the Jazz, as it is no longer big enough to transport my extended family which now includes two Grandchildren and a Patterdale pup! The Z4 will be staying ;)

I have specced the adjustable boot floor, and the towbar prep as options, but I now think the towbar prep may have to be cancelled, as I cannot get a definitive answer to exactly what it comprises - can anyone assist me with this? Skoda customer service did not really seem to know, but stated that it does not include the removable bumper section. Also I spoke to a few towbar 'specialists' and got the following answers from them regarding towbar prep option.

First one (recommended by local dealer) said he knew nothing about the towbar prep option or the parts required and that dealer would have to code the car after installation - but normally people didn't bother :S

Second one said he knew nothing about the pre-wiring options or the canbus integration at all

Third one seemed to know his stuff, and said the bumper cutout frame and cover would have to be ordered from the dealer, and that he would not use any factory pre-installed wiring, as he would install a generic canbus interface and code the vehicle himself to provide full Skoda functionality. Sounds good, but I would appreciate any feedback you may have, as what seemed like a simple question turns out to be a bit of a minefield :(

Hi,

as far as I am aware the tow prep consists of the wiring loom to the rear of the vehicle and a preprepared access panel in the rear bumper. The parts catalouge also suggests that tow prep vehicles have uprated batteries plus alternators and cooling fan, although SUK deny this :wonder: However they can be surprisingly suspect on their technical information, despite being able to modify a Octy vRS to hit 227mph, with a little help from Revo Technik :D

You will find this thread of great interest I think;

I have been trying for months to get the definitive answer about towbar prep.

TPs answer is logical but in the absence of any information from SUK has to be assumptive.

I am awaiting an answer from the SUK MD about this and many problems listed about towbar recoding.

I shall post here if I get any answers.

Thanks guys - just seen the other posts on this subject :S Seems unbelievable that someone at SUK can't phone someone at the factory and get a straightforward answer.

Anyway, for the time being I will leave the option of the prep on my order, and eagerly await an update from Fred. If nothing else, I now have things to do and plan while I wait for the actual car to arrive ;)

Unfortunately my letter to the MD has been passed to Will Fisher! Yes, that's right, the Will Fisher who told me it wasn't possible to get the pictogram on a Bolero. :wall:

However, he's on holiday until Aug31 so I have to wait, again.

It occurs to me that it would be advantageous if everyone who has had problems with towbar recoding were to write to Mr Hazelwood the SUK MD it might convince him that there really is a problem that needs to be addressed.

So, how about it fellow Briskodians(?) get your pens out and send him a letter.

Fred

Hi, just found this site as found waiting for our Welsh Yeti very tedious.

We decided on the Yeti after seeing it at FoS Goodwood, but just can't believe how long you have to wait.

Our local dealer wasn't amused when we called in and asked him if the wheels had arrived yet - just hope it comes before the snow.

In the mean time, I'll keep reading your comments.
