1 fan is always blowing even without AC on

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Since two weeks my dad told me that a fan is blowing when then car is started. He was just outside the car, I'm always inside so I can't hear it.

First I thought it's just the airco that's on, but the next time a turned engine on without ac even without ventilation in the car and still this fan is blowing. It's the second fan on the side of the oil filter and brake fluid. The other fan is never working, this one is located near the air filter or just below the TDI logo on the plastic engine cover. For information outside temperature was only about 16-17°C and I the engine was cold, I drive quite normal very gentil. The engine temperature meter seems to be correct, is never exceeding 90°C.

My car is a 1.9 TDI 77kW has done 20 000miles or 35 000km from 2007.

Can anybody help me please???????????????????? HELP

MANY THANKS

Michael

FYI,

It is the large fan, driven by a belt of the engine. The engine oil level is perfect.

Is it maybe normal that this fan is always working?

regards,

Michael

Yes it's normal.
