Should there be in a ko3s turbo shaft??

(spoken to clive about this...)

having found the oil leak on my car which was coming from the turbo cast alloy housing where the exit to the FMIC is,

bought another turbo from a guy breaking a vrs up carlisle felt the shaft of the turbo little bit of play(side to side) nothing back to front but from what i've read KO3&KO3's come with slight play in the shaft from new

is it worth me rebuilding it (kits are 44 quid delivered)

I think there will be maybe 1mm movement ish

dont forget there is no oil preasure aroun the shaft so it will be a tad loose but there shouldnt be that much. There will be some tho.

The one I took off that 51 plate car had a very small amount and I am sure that one was the original 112k.

currently dry as its out of the car waiting to go in

yes i have one off the car at the mo, and there is a little play in the shaft, it should be that way.

Anyone know the part number for the turbo to downpipe gasket ?? and the turbo to manifold gasket?

Right looks like i'm going to have to rebuild the turbo...... oh the joys!

play in the shaft more than 1mm

yep the play was to much and the blades had been hitting the side on the compressor housing!!!

cant believe someone would sell you one like that buddy !!!!

anyways not all bad just do what we suggested and all should be fine ;-)

Spoke to TEG (Stuart Newby) today he says rebuild kit and it will be fine.... even with the 2 thou off the blades it won't make much if any difference to the turbo unless it's all out race/rally car

i have to disagree with him as its not just the 2 thou missing its the potential stress damage to the blades wich might cause potential failure once running
