Allard egr delete kit for ASZ engine question?

Featured Replies

Hi

i m runnin shark map stage 1 on asz 1.9 engine just with green panel filter

and was thinkin to delete egr by buyin allard egr delete kit one from ebay

1. Will I have eml problem (light on) if I put that kit on?

2. will that bring any performance (bhp or mpg changes)?

3. Is it diy job?

4. Can I connect boost pipe to this pipe (my future plan to put boost gauge in the car)?

Any help please, maybe some done same thing?

By doing this you will loose the ASV (Anti-Shudder Valve) as its part of the EGR on the ASZ engines, this could lead to your engine mounts wearing much faster. I cant remember if it will but i'm sure someone with more knowledge on the subject can explain it further

yeah id like to know too. i have one sat at home because im unsure.

1, it will come on, but can be mapped out no problem

2, not really

3, Depends how good you are

4, Yes, it comes with a hole and nipple ready for a boost gauge.

So u reckon I ve got to contact sharks for deleting map?

No chance to do it via VAG.com?

If no performance change why bother?

It stops recirculating ****ty hot oil back into the engine. I`ll admit I have a delete on my fabia, but not a huge amount of knowllage on them. :S I fitted it because it was shiny and easier to take a boost gauge off it then drill holes. But yes, shark will be able to do it for you, its possible to turn it down on vagcom, but not get rid of the light on the dash im afraid.

The PCV is what's chucking hot oil vapours back into the intake. The EGR recirculates exhaust gasses to reduce NOx emissions.

These mix and that's what causes the horribly oily gunk you get in your boost pipes and intercooler.
