Under engine cover fixings / clips

Featured Replies

I've somehow managed to lose the clips and screws that fix the cover on underneath the front of my vRS. Can you buy these bits seperatly or do you have to pick up a new cover? Anyone have partnumbers?

Don't know about the vRS undertray but all the VW models I've had, I could get the screws and clips separately from the VW dealer. Not expensive - you should be able to replace the lot for less than a £5.

It's interesting to note that when getting dealer services in the warranty period some screws seem to fall out on their own and disappear and the dealer doesn't keep any stock !

Interestingly one of my BMW's used to have a small hinged flap right under neither the oil drain plug.

So to drain the oil it was only necessary to give one half turn on the fixing screw to gain full access to the plug.

Rocket science - No , Considerate - Yes.

Why Why Why !!!!!

Well to cap my day off I got to the dealers and found that someone had managed to steal one of my lock nuts so i ended up buying a new cap and a standard bolt for that. NOT HAPPY!!!

I just used some normal self tappers, worked perfectly!

Guess that is for the undertray and not for the locking wheel nut replacement :giggle:

zip ties are your saviour !!!
