The French Yetiisti love their DIY additions

I've posted some other French DIY things before, here and here.

Not sure why he did this? To raise the armrest or to fit a bottle of Coke?

From Google Translate:

JPC thank you for these explanations much clearer, without being much longer than that of using the site.

As efficient computer that the Yeti JP!

Here is the little trick that I've used on my car.

Some details for the realization:

As you can see, just a PVC tube of diameter 80 (medical evacuation gde DIY store)

Paint it black was the bomb the upper (exterior and interior), the lower c is useless, it is invisible

No concern for the development must be pushed (lightly) in the tube force, but finally c is an advantage, because nothing moves after nor vibrates!

Allow a little too high, even a little sawing the basis to be fair to the correct height

(You must also tweak a little to adjust the cutting angle from the top of the tube, so that the arm rests on all sides, not just on the tip of the tube.

That said, nothing dramatic, contrary to what the photo suggests, mine does not rely 100% on the periphery of the tube bias, and it does pose a problem)

Sorry for advertising, but as you can see we can slide inside a bottle al.

However do not rely too much on the air more this empty pocket. In theory it could cut a day in the bottom of the tube

but all the cool s escape from the top!

For the look, everyone has to judge, but I find that it does not (too) DIY.

Last point, the arm can still slide back and forth to.

(But it is easy to hang back, which personally bothers me a bit)

Interesting, I actually agree with the first one. When I test drove the Elegance, I found the armrest too low to the extent of rendering it almost useless, good solution then, albeit not being upto factory standard :)

The second one, what is he thinking/trying to do? Insulating noise using wood?

He took his second floor out that was over the factory fitted spare to liberate some room. And when you do that you have bare metal as per the first picture. So the wood is to protect that. A note on his hatch though: it stands proud! Had he cut the edges at 45 degrees it could have fitted flush and still not have fallen through! :giggle:

Ah, right, got it. Thanks.

So am I right in thinking (always doubtful) that the guy with the wood floor no longer has the spare wheel....... I.e. Can't see the point in having the spare wheel & then going to all that bother to take it out.

I do like the look of the bike set up though. Bet that saved a few bob. Wonder if he's got the plans.

EDIT: Just see your other post on the internal bike racking. It looked pretty Heath Robinson compared to the guy above.

It looks to me as though the first mod is designed to cool his bottle of coke quicker.

Without raising the armrest it wouldn't fit in and being unable to close the lid with the bottle inside means the cold air escapes.

I'm guessing the point at which the cold air from the A/C enters the compartment is now diverted directly into the bottom of the tube. The armrest seals the top of the tube and keeps the cold air in around the bottle.

Obviously a cold drink is more useful to him than an armrest :giggle:
