Monte carlo bulbs?

Featured Replies

We finally get to pick up the Monte on Friday and need some advice on headlight bulbs. The wifes heard that the bulbs fitted as standard are a bit naff. Yes I know, upgrade the little buggers to maybe nightbreakers, Xtreme vision etc

The dilemma is with the monte having smoked headlights will this effect my choice of bulbs?

The wife fancies some with a bluish tinge.

Have any Monte owners out there upgraded there bulbs? Would you recommend upgrading the drls also?

Thanks

I've changed the headlight bulbs to extreme vision and I'm curently looking for some whiter DRL bulbs.

Just white led sidelights looking into xenon kits how are these extreme vision bulbs? I'm sure there is led replacements got the drls

we have 2 skoda fabias lights are fine no problem at all, a lot better than my last car.

I pick up my Monte Carlo on Thursday, I'm going to upgrade them immediately to HID if I can. The projector lights work extremely well with HID and they are very easy to fit. In my experience the standard projector lights are always weak. I've had them in an Avensis, MX5 and an Audi TT (09). All barring the TT were awful as standard, to be honest the Avensis was like literally driving by candle light.

The Monte should be fairly straight forward to fit, the Avensis was a bumper off and lights out job. Absolute nightmare!

Hi chris ;) , hope I find you well I will be ordering the H7 you have kindly specced however the DRLS which ones would be your first pick?!!

Do you know the bulb size for the DRL's?

Have a look here:

Remember to be legal you need headlight washers and auto levelling.

Hi Fatbloke, the MTECH's only laster a few hours in my DRL's, they get really hot and started to melt the plastic bulb holder' I have now fitted these.

1 x 18 SMD LED 'Can-Bus' car bulb 1156 382 P21W BA15s (P21W-CB-LED-) = £14.12

PACK SIZE Pair (2pcs)

COLOUR White

I've bought the first ones in the previous post

Hi, can anyone recommend a straight swap upgrade bulb for the Monte please, I think the standard bulbs are really poor but I don't want any messing about changing lights etc, just a better bulb than original that will actually light up the road ahead! TIA.

I put Osram h7 nightbreaker plus in my Monte, significantly better than the standard bulbs and less than £15 off eBay.

@Arny Thank you very much for that, I'll have a search later :-)

@Arny I took your advice and bought those bulbs, I have just had them fitted and headlights aligned, roll on darkness tonight to see the difference :)

The bulbs are great, far brighter although I am now getting 'flashed' even on dip beam, think I will have to go and get them lowered a little bit.

Thank you very much for the recommendation.
