Soz, Yep It Is.

Anyone got figures for that thing?

See here - but it does look as though it is

Still, goes to show the changing attitudes towards diesels when so many manufacturers are making sporty (or in the Fiesta Zetec S's case - not so sporty) ones.

The Skabia's only going to be on top for so long!!!

If your going on power, then it isnt on top now.

even so does it really matter? It's an oldier car being out done by a newer one, it happens all the time such is the circle of life. Doesn't change the fact that it is a corker of a car!! :D

Its the Build and ride quality i bought the vRS for, the motor is just a bonus.

Vauxhall have decided to do a 1.9 140bhp Astra TD too. 7.5ish 0-60

I've test driven the zetec-s tdci. I currently own a mk5 zetec-s (1.6 122bhp) and I love my car for it's handling....

I was actually very suprised at how the diesel zetec-s drove, it was pretty good BUT then I test drove the vRS......the fabia is in a totally different league. The fiesta's interior is AWFUL and it's major let down. The seats are ok but it's the plastics. The dash design isn't too bad but the plastics are hard and extremely cheap. It's the same with the Fiesta ST.

Ok so maybe the fiesta wins on handling but the fabia is a better build, better engine and still a pretty good ride.

what have you done to your fiesta to get that extra 20bhp?

absolutely nothing (except it had an air filter) but I've taken that off because of insurance. Plus my friends got 120 totally std.

I know RR's aren't accurate but mk5 zetec-s' are nearly always around 115bhp std. I've known a few to be underpowered too (1 guy I know got 100bhp).

My 122bhp run was on a focus 1.6 meet at power engineering in uxbridge. The lowest standard 1.6 was 114bhp and the highest was 124bhp (focus estate lol).

One of my friends brought along a modded corsa which had previously run 138bhp but on this run managed 136bhp. There was also an ST170 focus that got 168bhp.

I feel the figures were good because the weather was absolutely perfect. It was sooooo cold :D

i wish people would stop buyin furby vrs's and other companies forget about performane diesels because at the moment us few vrs oweners are special and in a legue of our own but soon everyone will own a vrs or a performance diesel.

again as does happen to most cars, at the moment diesel sales are on the rise and Ford/Seat/VW/Peugeot and alike know that a sport diesel version will sell. Cant blame them for wanting a piece of the pie

Have used PE in the past and there have been several suggestions on ScoobyNet and the like that their rollers overread (allegedly) ;) I'm happy though, my Scooby made 251bhp on their rollers!

Still an ugly, ugly Astra, with that ironed in crease up the middle of it, looks like my work trousers...

7.5 seconds out of a 140 bhp TDI Astra... sounds unlikely.

whens the Mag out or have i missed it?

Mine is delivered on a Wednesday so I presume that is the first day it's in the shops

7.5 seconds out of the Astra is pefectly feasible.

First find a very high cliff, let the handbrake off and then just push it over the edge: gravity should see the 0-60 time match or even better 7.5 seconds :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Oh, and the end resulting impact might even make it look better and increase its value :D

Strangely their Nova adverts have a similiar concept already in them :D
