Featured Replies

Are you thats not 400NM (295lb/ft) as 400lb/ft seems quite a lot from just a PD100 with PD130 turbo and remap to suit

will have a look later mate

Feel free to organise. Driving two hours for a RR session (5 mins?) Doesn't appeal as much so I'd rather not take on that job to organise it.

My location prob wouldnt be best :S

I know my car isn't fast enough to really surprise anybody.

That's what I meant by "the big boys" in my earlier post

I certainly don't consider myself one of those...

First ever time on track soon, I'm sure there will be plenty

of people passing me in their Yetis and whatnot.

I'm still really excited about it though, should be a laugh.

I guess driving and launch skills contribute here as well

as what's been done with the cars.

But I'm too much of an old g1t for all that these days.

Some of you guys have mega power, kudos to you all for

developing your cars the way you have.

Besides, I don't have the budget to make my fabia any quicker.

It's fast enough for me as it is really.

After driving my van all week it feels like a jet plane.

I suppose I could chuck the seats out... That's free

Could some one take a video camera like a go pro?? Would love to see how these cars perform. Would be more intrested how they all perform around twisties more tho.

If you want a couple of twisties, one more track spot at Combe is free if anyone wants to take that.....

I'd be happy with a high 13. If Ross can get a 14.1 then I should manage a 13.9 or something as I start to edge him at 60mph+.

high 13s is respectable in any front wheel drive diesel :D

What will your car be running after the winter work?? Lol

Not sure. Depends on how much money I can generate :D Would like to think next Spring it comes out around 320bhp.

Why does money always have to be the issue! :( :D lol

So about 230 max then?? Lol :D

Just kidding (honest) what kind of internal work will be needed and where will the extra power come from? Bigger turbo?

Please keep the RR talk, opinions, speculation etc... to other threads.

If you are prepared to bring your tuned diesel Fabia down to Santa Pod on Saturday 17th September please add your name here.

That worked well then... ;)

Page 2 already and still only 3 names on the list. 2 of which have diesel Fabias.

That worked well then... ;)

Did you really think that would happen?? Lol :D

Altho sorry kina my fault :S

Compared to ~15 seconds on a drag strip?! :p

It's more fun. :)

Last time I did 7 runs in about 2 hours.

I already have the internals done, just need the hybrid 2265vk and some real good mapping :)

If you can get that kind of power and also keep everyday drivability that'll be a very impressive car.

Hell, you may even crack the 13 second quarter mile! B)

Thats why I fitted a gearbox capable of reaching over 110 in 4th gear. I hated always having to find 5th to do a full 1/4 before.

Every day driveability now is fine, but you need to respect the clutch :D Already come close to stalling it several times starting off at lights due to not quite getting the bite point right :D

I would have the 2265vk already fitted had I not had to shell out for the clutch kit. :( Bloody spec!

What internal work have ty

Forged rods, 2 x head porting, 70%+ bigger injectors, larger exhaust valves, uprated camshaft.

So that's the plan then?

If mine can do a 13.6 on my first visit (think best I'll get as it is will be 13.5) then you just need to find another half a second... and I've heard it said that 10bhp is about a tenth.

Interesting stuff, I'm sure your car is lighter too.

It is in "race trim" :D Plus other bits I suppose. Its my lack of ability to start it off in 2nd which really hurts though.

That's why I use first... and TC. ;)

I dunno how your TC works, if I launch in 1st it just begins to spin and then bogs down for 0.5 second whilst ASR does its thing!

Look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6no4MUo5tk

That's me with my foot to the floor... Look how bad the delay is

I think you'll see quite a difference once your LSD is fitted.

hummmm, would any standard Fabia vRS' be allowed along?
