Standard Spiders, should they rub?

Featured Replies

I;ve just done a straight swap of my standard VRS alloys to Octy Spiders and I;m getting bad rubbing on the passenger rear side. Should this happen? My car is not lowered at all, standard ride height. It's not happening on the drivers rear side just the passenger. The tyres are 205/50/r17

Any ideas?

Regards

What size tyres have they got?

They shouldn't rub as long as the tyres are 205/40/17.

Sorry just updated first post, they are 205/50/17.

That's why they rub :)

Tyres too big - i'd swap my wheels back with him lol

Or go buy a set of 205/40/17's and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply. That would explain it! It's weird it rubs just in that corner though.

I'll go and get the tyres changed.

Mine did exactly the same when I tried to fit a set of winters that were a bigger profile. Seems part of the arch lining on the left side is closer to the wheel than on the right.
