reverse lamp inop

Featured Replies

Hi, not been on for ages, so struggling to find stuff, the reverse lamp on my VRS has stopped working, its not the bulb, fuse or switch though, i seem to remember a while back a thread with pics in of the wiring to the reverse switch showing where the break occurs in the loom, any chance someone can point me in the right direct to said pics, cheers,

p.s. yes, i've done a search, the thread i found had no pics in though

Hi, Hopefully you have this sorted by now but if not -

On mine (none VRS) the wiring had broken right near to the plug at the gearbox. Now apparently the said plug is the same as those fitted for the brake pad sensors but as I don't have the sensors on my car and am yet to replace the pads anyway, plus the fact that trying to source a scrapyard, let alone any parts required in my area is a non starter, I obtained the following of E-Bay and spliced and soldered the required piece into the loom.

Job was dead easy and fixed the lights, and rear wiper doing the single flick when you engage reverse with the front wipers already on.

nope, not fixed it, i have no positive feed at the switch, i'm assuming i should have a positive there as there isn't one at the reverse lamp itself, therefore ruling out switched earth as the means of operating the lamp
