Advice on new tyres.

Featured Replies

I've made a boob in buying 4 Rainsport 2's great tyres but when you push on the sidewalls are that flexible it makes the car so wobbly and doesnt install confidence what so ever.

Very pleased with my Uniroyal Rainsport 2

Michelin sport pilot ? Like to try them one day.

My new FL vRS had Continental's (SC2) as a factory fit and I'm well impressed with them.

Nice grip and at nearly 6 months old not showing that much wear at all.

When I need replacement I'll certainly look into Continental's again, quite probably the new SC5.

I'm running SC3s on the Leon and they seem to last OK. They're monumentally crap in snow though.

I have just had a pair of Uniroyal Rainsport 2 fitted on the front, had Kumho, Falken on before. The sidewalls may be have a bit more give but the grip is far superior in dry or wet conditions. It certainly doesn't feel wobbly and I don't exactly hang about, it's a VRS so use it....!

Wish i could swap someone a set of conti's or equiv for these Rainsports only done a maximum of around 4-500 miles :S

Went for the PS3's in the end. £286 for 2 rears fitted and balanced with mobile call out.

Blimey, thats a good deal.

On one car, I've got 17" Michelin Pilot Primacys on the front (all four when I bought it) and I can't wait to get rid of them. They scrabble in the wet, understeer and flop in hard corners and are generally crap. But they do seem to last, I'm afraid to say. On the back, I've got Falken FK-452s just to try, and they seem pretty stable, good grip on dry roads even if I haven't tormented them too badly in the wet! Usually on the other car, on 16" rims I have Turanza ER300s, which despite getting poor press from the Skoda community, I can't fault. Used them for years and years, and they last me up to two years or about 50,000 miles.

I agree on the E300 and i wonder if there is a confusion with the E30. The E30 are really bad.
