ok' date=' sounds like the 2.0 is going to be the one then. Will have to book a test drive asap

thanks[/quote']

Once you have driven the 2.0 tdi pd 140 bhp you will not get the 1.9.

Drive the car quite hard in 3rd/4th/5th.....You won't be dissapointed :)

I feel you are right there. I had a test drive yesterday of a Mazda6 2 litre petrol and it was lovely inside, and nice to drive, but absolutely gutless and noisy top end compared to my RS. I have to say it reminded my why I bought my RS nearly 3 years ago, and it really is still a cracking car. Got back in mine and could believe how fast it felt, as how refined that 20v turbo engine is.

That's what I'm after but fuel costs are an issue. I guess the 140 pd will deliver that surge and feel of urgency but give good fuel economy as well, and lower insurance is a bonus.

:iagree: I test drove both - I could have lived with the 1.9 but I'd have hated myself the 2.0 is a flying machine.

The answer if performance is important YES - if your more after economy then stick with the 1.9.

I own a 1.9 TDI and have had a loan 2.0 TDI for an extended period.

In my view there is not much between them for economy. The extra performance of the 2.0 is awesome.

Well folks, I pick my new 2.0 Tdi Elegance estate up on Saturday. I didn't bother test driving one, as all you folks seemed so imprerssed. I took your word for it.

I ordered the Sahara Beige metallic colour.

I got mine this morning (hatch not estate). Fantastic car.
