Met up with vrsrs this morning - he's the proud owner of my old MK1 Fabia vRS. Nice to see the old girl and Rob took me out for a spin to see what i'm missing

I like the VRS estate in White, it looks really smart. I had a black VRS MK1 and wish I'd done the black grille mod :(

I recon you could get mistaken for an undercover police car in the White VRS, if I were you I'd put some blue lights behind the grille and make the drive to work a lot quicker :giggle:

After the little ride in my old car, I know the good and bad bits :D

Basically, the MK1 vRS feels more involving as it has a manual box and better economy even when hooning along.

The MK2 vRS is faster (obviously - its 50bhp up if you take stock power, even though my old vRS had 157bhp stock!) handles better, sounds alot better.

I wouldn't necessarily say i'd prefer one or the other, (well, mine :p ) however i'd like to pick the good bits from each one and use it as a basis to make the MK3 vRS B)

I love my old MK1 vRS but feel more at home in my MK2 vRS, it makes me smile every time I drive it fast or slow.

Cheers

I had 17'' vRS Spiders on the MK1 vRS when I had it, they looked the nuts ;)

Yeah, a couple of lights and stickers I could be a copper! I get a few funny looks from people with the DRL's and some people slow down when i'm behind them

Nice photos there mate, the MkII estate looks really nice in White, kinda wishing I hadn't gone for green now, I stand out too much lol

Funny that as I wish i'd gone for Green or Black :)

Not saying I don't like White, just think a Green Estate would look cool B)

Besides, the misses put her foot down and it was between Black and White and I won :D

Liking the photos. You forget to mention the practicality the Estate brings which the MK1 can't touch.

I chose Green specifically because I wanted to stand out :p No dull grey, blue etc for me

Very true, the Estate vRS means practicality and speed is possible without buying a bigger car :D

Next time I may stand out a bit more :)

looks good but , the mk1 is awesome looking car the mk2 cant match its sheer beauty, the mk1 was and still is a crackeremoticon-0148-yes.gif yes we know the mk1 is quicker but not as clever in the fast corners , the mk2 is a proper hot hatch( not quickest) were the mk2 is a suped up OAP's caremoticon-0136-giggle.gif

This bit confuses me

The MK2 is faster and better in the bends.

The MK2 is a good hot hatch, which one is suped up OAP car? :giggle:

both a great cars dont get me wrong but the mk1 is a classic mk2 has too many competitors bit of an also ran?, I thought the mk1 was better in the bends bit more grippy and sure footed, as ive said before i would love a vrs but not with the fuel of satan(petrolemoticon-0136-giggle.gif),

The new vRS has an XSD and better traction control compared to the MK1. Put it this way, I can go round corners fasster now then I used to in any of my old cars :D

aye but the diesel lump in the front mk1 pulled your round the corners, adlav enjoy its a cracker pandaesque but still nice, shame you have to tow a fuel lorry behind you thoughemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

The MKI looks like it just came out of the show room.

Seeing the new and the old side by side IMO shows how fat and non-sporty the Mk2 looks compared to the original

Ideal I suppose if you really want a sleeper, but I'm not all that keen myself :(

Rating the photo of them facing each other close up! Pretty cool!

Nice pic's mate! I'll need to get some of my own ones up from places around bonnie Scotland! haa!

Nice to see the Mk1 and Mk2 estate together like that since that's exactly the upgrade I'm doing. Out of the box a Mk1's handling isn't brilliant and I'm getting bored of it. The weightiness over the front end can't help. Still love the mid range grunt of it though. I drive my parents Swift a lot and it had cracking handling and If it had more go mid range it would be perfect, hopefully the vRS will be similar. I did get a decent test of a vRS before I ordered but it's been ages and I couldn't really chuck it into corners as I was accompanied but was impressed enough to order.

Oh and seboni change the record. Any chance you're getting to bash the Mk2 vRS you're doing it and it's getting tiresome. Let it go

awesome pictures, which is better Mk1 or Mk2.

Yes, the mkII is a better car if you want comfort, speed, corning ability, practicality, higher vehicle to get in and out of etc... It is, after all, a newer design.

But the mkI is more fun IMO, it's raw and you have to drive it. Even if it is slower.

I can kind of see what Seboni121 is saying. The mkI is different, a Skoda performance car what was only offered as a diesel. It really was unusual in it's early days, a bit of a cult car. The mkII is a Polo GTI/Seat Ibiza clone with all the same oily bits at a lower price. It's just another hot hatch.

Maybe it's just me, but I also find the mkII VRS looks quite like a regular mkII. Other than it's lost the fog lights. You need to change the roof colour and put black/white alloys on it or it doesn't stand out.

awesome pictures, which is better Mk1 or Mk2.

FIGHT!!!!

Very nice photos  it`s nice to see the MK1 & 2 vRS together i like the MK 1 alot (well i did have 2 of them :) ) but i love my MK2 vRS estate it`s so much better

Both looking nice has the black one been lowered??
