fabia vrs remaps

Featured Replies

1 day to remove the ECU ? c`mon that more like 10 mins max , ECU reading and writing is 30-40mins max .

so i`d say 1-2 hours maximum

Shark is the only one I'd go to just on reviews of people on here. Plus they've taken time to develop the map properly. I'd never have a cheap map on my car and not one that was unproven

Totally agree, i should have got it done before i brought it home on Tuesday. Will be a bit of a trek to get it done now

As soon as my brakes are sorted I'm going for a shark remap, just seems to be the best option out there. Fingers crossed sometime in october/november. Only downside is its £500 haha!!!!!

As topic really...

Reading the shark performance thread it sounds like there is a decent amount more go available.

How many miles did you do before remap?

What one did you go for?

Mpg change ?

How did it change your 0-60 and 0-100?

It sounds like some remaps can get you close to sub 6 to 60, sub 13 to 100, another 5 mpg, and great midrange gains ....

Interested to hear straight from you all opposed to the sellers !

HI, I have a revo map stage 1 from almost new, Eibach coilovers and ARD fitting and I can't fault it. I have now done 15k and the thing just gets better as does mastering the 7sp DSG, which really helps when playing with stuff you think would leave it.

I recon sub 6 to 60 is not a problem and I have shocked some serious motors with the performance, sub 13 to 100 is a bit much to expect, however within 13s is achievable.

Midrange is great, power is always available and my wife can get well in the 40's mpg.

I think the Revo map is great, I know Shark performance are also great and offer a great service, just a bit far away from me, but I would recommend either map and you will really enjoy the benefits.

Just wondering how much the revo map costs & how long it takes to do?

I have emailed the local installers to me (Edinburgh) for more info

Am i right in thinking if i was to get a revo map and buy sp1 unit i could return it to stock for warrenty work an then dealer would b none the wiser with it???

I know for a fact with my nearest skoda dealer a tuning box was fitted then removed (for service/warrent work) just leaving the additional wiring and they were none the wiser

So guys at this present point in time we have the choice of a sharks or revo remap, tmc tuning box, revo with sp1 and finally shark's self tuning system (which i'm guessing is like the tmc tuning box??)

shark any help would b brill

Thanks again for your time

Shark or Revo is the only remaps people on the forum have gone with so far. I'm sure Ben will correct me if I'm wrong, but the STS isn't available for the MKII vRS due to the protection on the ECU.

I "think" mate that you can use the SPS unit w/Revo once the ECU has been cracked as then you can tune through the ODB port but someone will have to clarify this

Hi I am looking at getting my new VRS remapped and my local Revo tuning centre didn't want to do it as the ECU has not been cracked yet and they would have to open up the ECU. Are shark performance taking the ECU apart to remap it?

I think that was similar to what Star Performance were looking to do on mine as they said they needed the car for a whole day to do the map

Our STS-unit is not yet available for the new 1.4TSI ecu with the latest tuning protection from Bosch. We also have to open the ECU to flash these cars.

Before modifying your ECU we read a full 100% copy of the ECU contents, so the ECU itself can be returned to 100% standard.

With the Revo switch, the file within the ECU is still modified and can be detected using standard VAG equipment.

Knowing how these ECUs work (and yes I admit being biased :)), I would never use a tuning box on these.
