Bloody Kids!

Featured Replies

My car got hit by an egg the other day when I was driving along. Didn't bother me too much, nothing a bit of hot soapy water couldn't fix, but it dripped down into the heater/ventilation inlet. Now every time I turn the blowers on, hot or cold, my car stinks. Is there any way of cleaning it out without removing the full ventilation system?

Many Thanks

Will

bummer! egg should only be right at start try a flexible brush like they use on shotgun barrels or the little fibre brushes they use when lagging exterior walls

least their using eggs round your neck of the woods,

we had a problem about 2yrs ago when someone kids thought it would be funny to drop things off the dual carriageway walkover bridge...

but what they where dropping off the bridge onto the cars was nothing short of bloody lethal.... 12 windscreens later and an article in the local paper about the parents being fined £1200(turns out the kids weren't skipping school too)

their weapon of choice was used C and D sized batteries!!! one hit my neighbours vovlo 240gl and the glass cut his hands up badly.

In terms of advice about cleaning the eggs, sorry i don't know.

p.s. if it doesn't go away you might have an alternator issue, they are known for over charging the battery and causing a rotten eggs smell in the engine bay that can come through into the cabin

Sounds like the yoke is on you! I would have gone back and thrown a brick at the kids tbh...

If you blast a load of water into the vent on the bonnet it should drain out the bottom but you will get a lot of condensation in the car for a while till the heater ducting dries out.

little bast**ds! - i've had to replace the heater-blower motor recently, and they're a doddle to get in and out on a Felicia- held in with clips that are very assessable. might be worthwhile pulling out the blower and giving the housing a wash.
