They do look pretty good. Are the brackets ally or steel?

They are aircraft grade alloy, very hard and more than up to the job

One pair for me please

What sort of cost ?

Isn't the pad too small for that rotor?

Good stuff!! Looks great!!!

Did you take the splash guards off in the end? (I know the picture shows them still on....) I took mine off when I fitted my 330's. Never had a problem as a result of doing it either.

Steve :)

Did u unadjust the hand brake to give u the extra length needed or was there enough in the cables already?

I also want a set of these so long as they aren't stoopid money

The only thing you have to do for the handbrake cable is under the car just before the rear arch is held in a clip!

You have to un do it and slide the outer cable out of it to give you that little bit more outter.

The inner is fine didnt even have to loosen mine like i thought id have to.

And i did leave the shields on

Tobe honest if id ve thought about it i would ve done

Okay silly question time. How does using the same calliper on a bigger disc improve braking? Is it that you're gripping further out and that enables more force to be applied?

And what sort of cost are we looking at?

Im thinking of getting them anodised black

Only to protect the alloy from corrosion!

The long and short of it is as normal the more people we get interested the cheaper they will be

But with the bolts, nuts and wsshers/shims!

Need the shims to adust the position of the carrier on the disc as ever car/ carrier wont be the same!

I would say they will be about 85 ish maybe a bit cheaper!

Then all you need is a set of Pagid discs from ECP as they are coated and the unused area wont rust and your set!

I gave my car a good seeing to tonight, within the realms of the law and the car feels so much more planted under braking

Cant really say how bigger difference it is as ive got 4 pots up front but it brakes like a BMW if that makes sense?

Doesnt give more braking force as such as the caliper pad area and so on are the same.

But because your moving the caliper out using a bigger disc it gives more torque.

pointless, as your not improving anything at all? still stock caliper, just a bigger disc

Not pointless actually. The whole point is you have a bigger disc. Think about the laws of physics. Becuase the outer circumference of the disc is bigger, the pad has to travel across more metal per revolution than with a smaller disc, giving you a torque advantage. It works exactly the same way when you use a 24" breaker bar comapred to a 6" one. The job is much easier with the bigger bar as you can generate more torque, or turning force.

That is why 312's and 288 front brakes use the same pad, and have the same swept area. The larger disc gives a torque advantage, giving you more stopping power.

Come on dannyboy, lets see some group buy prices lol. If there is enough people, is there a chance we could go under £60?

Not pointless actually ... giving you more stopping power.

+1; exactly that

This is an alternative to something like the CompBrake 330x20 kit @ £400

It does make a significant difference to the stability of the car under heavy braking.. Very difficult to explain how though... but I know it's a very worthwhile modification to do!!!

And for so little money too it's a must!!! Here is a link to when I upgraded mine.

Thats what i found its very stable under braking

The car feels so much better

I need to pay a forum fee to be able to sell but provisionally who is interested?

And would that be annodised or just as they are?

If you leave them like they are that will take £4:00 off the price!

looks a worth while mod just for the looks factor

1. RobClubley - Anodised :D

For £4 extra I'd go with anodised too

splash guards ...

Mine came off when going from single rear disk to vented, to let as much air a possible get to the rear brakes ( no splash guards fitted to front either )

yeah it does make quite a difference especially when youve got big wheels with not much metal like the ones ive got

They look even bigger with spiders on!

Only negative I can see is a disadvantage to unsprung weight as the disk will be heavier.

As the rear disk is only 22mm compared with 25 for the front, any possible caliper issues with this extra 3mm?
