Surely just making a Impreza RWD and giving it a couple of upgrades (chip, intercooler, etc) would have achieved exactly the same thing?

I have to say I thought the same thing.

Obviosly the bloke likes jap cars........but wanted to create a "sleeper" drift king car.....so converted it to RWD......that engine sounds very non standard V10 BMW.....sounds smaller capacity, higher rev limit, highly tunned.......driver has got a goood standard of drifting.

I'd guess the car (possibly not a BMW) the engine came from was a bit of a mess, hence the available engine.
