Fabia vRS front disc won't budge

Featured Replies

Hi

I've read a couple of threads on changing the front disc. I've removed the retaining screw but the disc won't budge. It looks as though there is also a large retaining nut holding the disc on.....and the nut also large and a not std shape. Were the std discs changed at sometime or am I missing something?

thanks

If you've taken out the little screw holding the disc on, im assuming its the same as any other vw, you need a hammer. move the caliper out of the way and give it a good whack!

I've not had to change the discs on mine yet, but some vehicles you have to remove the caliper carrier to remove the disc completely, there should be two bolts behind the back of the carrier if thats the case.

Try tspping it with a hammer/mallet as it's probably rusted to the hub

There should be nothing else holding the disc on. Hit it with a mallet.
