Remap Science

Featured Replies

Anyone heard or dealt with them? I have a mate who is looking to get his Citrus 2.2 hdi done and they are quoting 200 quid for a mobile service. Imo, I'm not convinced, tbh the website looks a bit rubbish and in the FAQ's they are almost endorsing concealing the mod from the insurance as they claim it is undetectable.......

Remap Science

Looks really dodgy to me mate, looks like the site was designed by a 7 year old with Microsoft Paint and google images.

I came across the website myself a few days ago. Having been told by shark that remaps are no way undetectable I would tend to belive them over these cow boys. Also- how can they justify £200 for a remap anywhere in the country? :S There plenty of other remap places that many skoda and vag owners have used...

Personally I wouldn't touch them with a 25ft barge pole, but my friend needed more convincing. Thankfully with the comments here and from the mk5golfgti forumites he has seen the light.

Do I Have to inform my insurance company about the ECU remapping ?

We are not advising you not to inform your insurance company about your remap but this process is undetectable by any diagnostic equipment. Over 90% of insurance companies will not add any extra premium if you do inform them so the decision is yours.

Quote Taken from their FAQs, http://www.remapscience.co.uk/faqs.html

Really? I thought 90% of insurance companies WOULD increase the premium. Plus I'm sure insurance companies have ways and means to test ECUs for remapping.
