VRS RIP

Featured Replies

well annoyed tonight, my car was written of tonight, was on my way home from work driving round a off camber bent and some one was coming the other way in the middle of the road, so i had to swerve out the way, back wheel went on the verge which then sent the car into a spin, i ended up taking out a tree and fence, and the other person carried on, the damage to the car is A pillar, wing, driver doors, front bumper, driver side sill, ill let the pictures do the rest

Ouch!

Main thing though is that you're fine. Metal can be replaced a whole lot easier than flesh and bones.

Did you get the reg no of the other car?

nope all happened so fast, they were round the corner and gone before i knew it, but i dont think ill get another vrs because it just wont be the same, not sure what to go for though, saved up bike time for this one was hoping to keep it for 5 years min

What a shame mate! glad your unharmed thought.

Very bad news mate

But one positive if such a thing can be said ....

The car protected you well and you are ok, the main thing, you can always get another one (even if you have put a lot of effort into it etc its still a car and can be replaced). Still sucks but could be a lot worse

glad to hear your ok, poor skoda!!!

i just feel gutted that ive lost such a good car shame the handling wasnt better lol, not much i could do after it snapped back the other way i was just along for the ride, i also had the window half way down so got showered with glass but i walked away with just cuts and bruises

As above, when I was hit at 25 mph from the side and pushed to the other side of the road ( by joyriders in a stolen car ) and then got hit at 40 head on (on motorbike ), when the copper said to me you are the luckiest guy alive, and I just said look at my bike, (only the engine left), later on I came to realise what a lucky escape I had had. knees pushed into the tank and lost the handlebars, then when I got hit head on I flew over the bonnet of the second car and landed in a hedge, all I had to show for it was skin off my knees , you will come in time to understand you too had a lucky escape, but it is SO GALLING when it is your pride and joy. Best wishes

looks like a nasty bump. Must say the furby looks to have done a good job of taking care of you though buddy

Glad you're ok dude! as others have said, cars can be replaced, such a shame though :(

gutted mate

but as the other commments say at least your ok.

I really really hope you find the idiot that didn't stop!!!

i would probably spend the next week camping out on the same road to see if i can spot the other car again..

report them to the police, get them bandned or at least 6 points.

then on a side note

once the police have dealt with them you could always exact a more personal type of revenge and find his(i'm assuming he is male) vehicle and vandalise it in the middle of the night! hehe

p.s.( i do not condone taking the law into your own hands)

whats happened has happened nothing i can do about it, im safe and well at the end of the day, this is why we all have insurance, as long as i get a decent pay out for the car ill be happy and then i can decide what to buy next, im pretty sure they will write it off with that amount of damage

Get another vRS but a better one, faster and nicer, you'll love it :)

Agreed :)

Sorry to hear off your loss- does this mean you'll lose any no claims that you may have- all because of the other person driving off?

Lucky escape, strong little cars, glad your OK, shame about the car though.

insurance payout + 'whiplash' payout = project car?

Oh great idea. You're suggesting falsifying the claim? And we wonder why we all pay the premiums we do.

Anyway, sorry to hear about the incident. Any witnesses?

been offered £3100 for it which is a joke as i paid £4295 for it 10 months ago, its only done 77,300 miles on a 53reg with full skoda service history, he said that its only worth £3100 on glass's guide in a1 which it was in a1 condiction but he's also looked on autotrader and compared it to a cat c repaired car which is going for £2999

It's a load of Sh** when it comes to them paying out for your car, they did the same with my A4, gave me £800, when it would cost me at least £1500 to replace, You should fight back and never accept the first offer!

Good luck!
