as nice as it was and how much i liked it, its only a car at the end of the day, i did have plans of lowering it at some point but this wasn't the most practical way of doing it lol :D

been offered £3100 for it which is a joke as i paid £4295 for it 10 months ago, its only done 77,300 miles on a 53reg with full skoda service history, he said that its only worth £3100 on glass's guide in a1 which it was in a1 condiction but he's also looked on autotrader and compared it to a cat c repaired car which is going for £2999

In all fairness thats a bad price as such.

When my 53 plate Fabia was written off, i was offered £3700, that was in 2009, i refused, but they upped it to £3950.

Hang on a minute? He compared his offer to a repaired cat C?

That's not how it works, if you replace it you'll be buying something that was the same as before the accident, not what it'll be worth after it would have been repaired. (unless your car was a repaired vehicle?)?

Sorry to hear about this.

While you can't change the past, it may be worth considering something like this: http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/roadhawk-dc-1-in-car-camera.html

I run a drive camera and it's always there if an incident happens.

In this instance you'd have had the details of the other vehicle and it driving in the middle of the road.

Wow that's such a good idea!

Sneaky I like it!! Lol

On the value issue, best to come up with a list of available cars as close to your age/condition/mileage/options on AutoTrader, Pistonheads etc - to indicate what it will cost you to the same car you had, pre-incident.

Just putting my Police head on here so bear with me...looks like a country road so maybe not a useful comment but drive/cycle the route and see if there are any CCTV cameras pointing out onto the road, even a partial reg, especially if its a locally registered car, colour and a couple of letters or prefix and it could be traced. However you'd need a decent copper to look into the matter, I see the rozzers attended, are they submitting a report? They should be due to the damage to the 'roadside furniture' - police speak for the fence. You might have to do some leg work but you never know. Petrol stations are useful as their cameras normally cover their exits and therefore the road. Good luck.

I think that's an ambulance car.....

well just a update after all the hassle of keep ringing them and arguing about the price they wouldn't budge, all i was left with after the finance was paid off and excess was £1600 so it looks like ill be getting the car back for breaking now

If you've still got the engine/turbo/intercooler i might be interested, all 3 of mine just packed in :( :(:( thats if you are actually breaking it :)

That sucks ... looking at Parkers' guide, it should have been £3500-4500. :( Personally, I'd have been inclined to go through the formal complaint route just 'coz. Still, hope you get something sorted out! :)
