What to do to my VRS

Featured Replies

Love the look of the car. Red, Totally Standard.

Dump Valve - Where can i get a nice one and how much can they cost?

bigger turbo? can it be done? well, is it worth doing?

Lowering?

Re-map? best places to go etc and prices?

might be slightly silly post. but after a bit of advice.

dumpvalve forge 007p around £90 or compbrake one £50

bigger turbo give yourself a chance lol long way to go before you need to look at turbo's and many ££££' would need to be spent

as the saying goes dont run before you can walk lol

remaps places like

r-tech

revo

badger 5

amd

shark

plenty to choose from with varying prices. everyone will have different views but the person i will use always is r-tech nick

Where abouts in brum are you? I'd be happy for you to have a good look over mine as I have most of the common mods done to one and a few not so common like Porsche 6 pots lol

Dave

my advice is to avoid this forum as it will end up costing you an arm and a leg !! :giggle:B)

Haha, thats always good. spending a nice amount of money on cars is what i like doing.

From Solihull area matey.

Im happy enough with just the mods in my sig. Any more and it really starts costing. The car still has a good turn of pace after the remap.

Number one on anybody's list should be rear anti-roll bar.

Then decent bushes.

Then maybe start looking at the engine.

hi

had mine remapped from a chap in walsall

comes out mobile and does it

then you try before paying

if you aint happy he takes it off and dont pay anything

realy happy with mine for only £150

I'm probably not the best person to see.... especially as my engine modifications alone cost nearly 15k!!

However i'm over Solihull a fair bit.

As said above, there is LOADS you can do to the car before you even start upping the performance!

Chassis:

  • Rear ARB (White line 24mm for price, Eibach or Neuspeed for quality...at a price though!!)
  • Poly bush the front end (Front/rear of wishbones)
  • Dog bone engine mount
  • Subframe chassis brace off an Audi S3
  • Good discs/pads/brake fluid/brake hose liners
  • Coilovers (Weitecs are v.good especially for the price!)

Engine:

  • Compbrake DV
  • Green/Piper/K&N panel filter
  • Samco/Forge turbo intake pipe (TIP)
  • Uprated hoses boost/coolant/turbo (more for show really)
  • Downpipe/sports cat (100cel is best for power, otherwise 200cel)
  • Cat back system (2.5" is plenty big enough)
  • FMIC (Forge or ProAlloy) Avoid the ebay $h!te!!!!!
  • Custom remap - Do this last so the mapper can take full advantage of the modifications!!

Hope that helps,

Steve
