Mobile Tyre Fitters

Featured Replies

Getting my new rims from Pastyboy this week  and need to get the rubber swapped from existing rims to the new ones.

Been looking at some mobile fitting services so it can get done on the drive at home. Been quoted about £10 per wheel including balancing and fitting.

Just wondering if this is reasonable and if there are any negatives from not going in to a garage?

Any thoughts anyone?

Personally I would go into a decent tyre shop to do it. As mobile I would assume they would be stripping and refitting the wheels without the use of a machine which means there done with brute force and ignorance. This way you could run the risk of damaging the rim of the wheels. As think they use the old style balancing platform rather than than the modern enertia balancing machines you may get wheels slightly out of balance this way.

Try Event Tyres. I used them and they were fine. No brute force or ignorance involved

All the ones I have seen have proper electronic tyre removers and balancers!

As long as they have this kit in the van are they effectively the same as a garage then?

Etyres are ace, they have a tyre machine and balancing machine in the back of their vans.

Cheap for tyres as well.

Hi Guys

I use a mobile tyre fitter all the time at my workshop.

He has all the top kit in his truck gets all the tyres from budget to top end.

Just ask around your area.

Cheers all - will give one of them a go!

Etyres - £76.80!

IDS Mobile Tyres - £40.00

Waiting to hear back from Event Tyres

I'd personally go to a tire place because then they often offer free wheel alignment and tracking check. This I will always recommend after doing the same and not having them checked- cost me a new set of tires a few thousand miles done the line!
