Kinder on the eyes

I have just installed this software which was being punted by BBC Click program.

It allows you to adjust the colour temperature of your LCD display to match the ambient conditions i.e. day or night. With the LCD screen set to produce warm tones in the evening it certainly makes it easier to read.

I presume you can re-adjust your display back to standard should you wish to do colour correction on graphics/photos.

Is this technology a spin-off from the Kindle reader ?

Thanks - it certainly works.

Been using it a few months now and it does work. Get less headaches and feel more relaxed when using my laptop

Quick word of warning.

I thought I would try to explore the possibility of setting the screen back to normal. I'm having difficulty with this at the moment. Whilst the Flux software installed without error message, clicking the Flux icon on my list of programs in the Windows 7 Start menu isn't doing anything - I'd have expected at least the initial adjuster window to have popped-up. I'll investigate and post back if I find anything.

That said, I can still adjust the display through the Windows Control panel and directly on the LCD panel hardware.

I also wondered about that Nick and have found that the program's icon (and adjustment panel) is located in the 'hidden icons' section at the bottom right of the screen (Win7).
