Alarm removal, (legitimate)

Featured Replies

Hi folks, justvthought I'd say hello after joining the skoda club, brought a mint condition 2002 octavia vrs yesterday and I'm well pleased..

My question is that the car has been fitted with a non standard cat 1 alarm system, I can see why it's been fitted but its more of a annoyance to me

The alarm has another fob that I need to use to turn off the immobiliser before to start the engine, it also opens the doors and stuff but I don't really think it's needed, can I disable it or remove it, if so who could do it and how much would it cost?

Kind regards

Mick

Do you know the make and model?

To remove aftermarket alarms, if its been done to thatcham standards then you usually need a new wiring loom. The reason for this is that the wiring is done so that if the alarm is removed its not possible to connect the wires back together, otherwise there would be little point in having a thatcham approved immobiliser that can be easily bypassed.
