19" wheels and sizing for Octy vRS

Featured Replies

Gents, hopefully my shiny new toy (MY12 Octy vRS combi) will make landfall in the next few weeks .. I'm planning to order some custom wheels for her - either 19x8.5 ET45 or 19x8.5 ET48, not entirely sure what will look best or rub the least once lowered. Tyres will be 235/35 in order to maintain the 91Y load rating.

Comments, opinions and criticisms are most welcome : )

Thanks.

Cheers,

Todd.

If your local roads are riddled with potholes 19's are asking for trouble.

Mate has ditched them on his BMW after cracking a set - twice.

Not keen but each to his own.

You might want to check the correct load weighting for 19" wheels as it's 92 for 18".

Hi Todd.

I have 19" alloys on my lowered Octy, see the link below for details:

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/207098-vmr-v710s-fitted/

I have 235/35 tyres, and my wheels are 19x8.5 with a ET45 offset, I have Weitec coilovers fitted and get no rubbing. Car is approx. 35mm lower than standard.

Edit: oops - didn't see you'd already posted on the thread I linked to above! :D

Quite like the wheels you have posted up on this thread.

I just had a crisis.

thanks guys for the replies, I ended up going for some nice little matte black Volk Racing G2's in 18x8 wheels instead. I'll also swap the stock rubber for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics v2.

should end up looking something like this once I get my hands on her fine silky panels ..

next on the shopping list will be stage one tune, castor bushings, intake, sway bar, and some external goodies from superskoda : )

Cheers.

That's going to look great, but needs more "low" in my opinion.

:)

I've also got some Asymmetric 2's on order.

BTW - is it foggy in Australia?
