V70R

Featured Replies

I've had this a couple of months now; after getting rid of my Octavia in May I searched for one for a while until I found mine in July.

It's, as the title says a Volvo V70R MY05

It's got a 2.5 5cyl turbo producing 300bhp and 400NM. B)

4 pot Brembo's all round

I've got a Turbo back 'zorst on order, which when fited and with a stage 2 it should be producing 340-350 bhp and 480-500 NM. I'll fit an uprated FMIC with water injection after christmas and then It will be ppretty much as I want it. Maybe change the colour of the alloys and fit front parking sensors.

I really, really like these :). Lucky man!

Cheers!

Very nice indeed. Always liked the V70R.

Nice choice, really like these

Didn't want one with the orange seats then?! :D

Lovely car, the seats look so comfortable. My dad had an S40 with leather and they wear beautiful cars- so well made as well. What economy do you get out of this beast?

I really fancy them S60R's with the orange interior and ice blue paintwork with the smoked wheels. Think they look really nice but very un-Volvo though.

I did actually! I wanted either black or sonic blue with atacama (orange) leather. I found one in black with the atacama in a dealers in Scotland but they wouldn't send it down to a closer dealer to view so I didn't want to give them my money when they wouldn't compromise. Plus it didn't have the other options I wanted.

I can get anything from mid 30's right down to 15 mpg. I bought it from Kent and I got mid-high 30's coming back, needless to say (other than one other time when i followed a friend in a diesel fiester to ligh****er valley) that is as high as I've had it. More like mid tou high 20's. It isn't much different to the Octavia around town or cruising.

There is more s60's come up than V70's and they don't cost as much so it made sense to look for one but I didn't want a saloon.

edit: I dont know why it sensors **** out of ligh****er LMAO

Nice blog btw aswell

Check you out hijacking my thread lol. I saw it via you're other thread. Very nice as I say the blue is the best colour, but black and tango combo is better for a p2. I looked into a blue one but it was £5k more, same age with more miles before I got mine.

Sorry John :). Just wanted to make sure you saw it. As for the black and tango combo, I've not seen it? Feel free to educate me on that! I did have a peek around a few volvo forums last night and it appears my car is able to get to 300bhp quite easily and that 400 is readily achievable, as are manual gearbox conversions while retaining the awd. No idea how I'd go about sourcing all the parts though.

Ive such a soft spot for volvo's! they're 4wd iirc? I wanted an 850 R since I was a youn child!

I've recently found myself looking at 850 R's after having a soft spot for them. Not many R's about these days and they're fetching good money still, found a few t5's that are listed as R's but clearly aren't :giggle:

Liking the v70 tho, should sound/go well once the exhaust and map are done

It’s the orange leather on the P2, Atacama is the official name.

Yea I've read some impressive figures on P1's.

I’m not sure about the conversion, I know to do a P2 is almost impossible. Very costly and brings all sorts of errors. If you look on Sweedishspeed (yank Volvo forum) someone on there is bound to have done it, or at least tried.

Yea AWD, similar to VAG 4WD with the Haldex system.

Yeah the 850's are getting quite desirable, especially the “gul†yellow ones. Did they not do a T5-R for the 850?

Oh I had the exhaust and Map done a couple of months ago, just haven’t updated this thread. Yeah it makes a big difference, although the sound isn’t loads louder than standard but that’s what I wanted.

Ye they did the 850 t5 and a t5r. Theres a nice gul yellow 850r on eBay but at £4500 it's to much money. The rest I've seen are just normal t5's.

That one has been on for months, if it's the one I'm thinking of. If it's in Brighton then it is. Far to expensive, it was higher than that when I looked though.

Loving the TV and phone built into the dash. Is it analogue TV? Possible to fit freeview?

You will see off quite a lot of cars in that anyway even some of the more powerful ones out on the road. Lovely sleeper cars.

Its analogue, I was thinking of pulling it out and looking at retro-fitting a Freeview thing. I did read somewhere Volvo is supposed to be rolling out a DAB firmware soon. The HU has the “DAB” icon thing in the background of the screen.

To be honest I haven’t had a chance to “see off” anyone. Well I showed a Golf GTI at a set of lights yesterday that revving when stopped and looking across at me, showing off with a girl isn’t going to work out well. So I gave him a good car length before I booted it.

I’m not sure it meets your expectations but it was funny.

Other than that not really, a guy at work has a 330i and wouldn’t believe a “family car” could be faster than his convertible coupe. Yeah right, this was proven prior to the Map and exhaust too.

Nice motor, I have been fortunate enough to have had 3 V70 T5s and 2 S60s. The S60s are I think the better car, but there is something special about the estate though. Especially when you have the kids in the back and a "sporty" something beside you at the lights !

They usually come back for more, just to get humiliated again.

My first T5 was 23.4 mpg over 50,000 miles, not great...maybe something to do with the above ?

I love these. So comfortable, so spacious and so quick. Like a turbocharged sofa with a wardrobe attached. :D

They look amazing with slightly greyer wheels.

I did it the other way round!   I sold a  mint 850 2.5GLT estate

Car looks ace! I didn't know they did a Volvo with anything like that amount of power. Real sleeper! All volvos are built like tanks so hopefully should last. Enjoy!
