compbrake dv valve

Featured Replies

hi all just a quick question i know it might of been asked before but i am looking into changing my dv and the forge is abit out of my price range and have found a compbrake which is in my price range but want to make sure if they r any good and does it have the changeable springs for say when a remap is done later and also wondering what makes this cheaper then the forge beside the branding??

thanks all

I have the compbrake one. Had it on for over a year with no issues whatsoever.

And yes, it does come with 2 springs and holds boost fine. I'm running a Shark performance map.

I have compbrake and only got one spring with mine :(

awesome well sounds like i will have to try and ring them and ask them and make sure it does come with two springs will be ordering it tommz :D

I got mine from their ebay site cost me £45. Doesn't make a noise sifference but deffiantly looks better.

I reckon you could use a Forge spring in it, as I think it is a copy of the forge valve.

answer to dbp: i just looked on ebay and found one for about 30pounds but i think its a unbranded dv so not sure on it and answer to rk696 would have to look into that unless the compbrake does come with the two springs

the kit i found on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RECIRCULATING-DUMP-BLOW-OFF-VALVE-BOV-SKODA-OCTAVIA-FABIA-VRS-1-8-20V-TURBO-NEW-/360393530252?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53e920db8c

My compbrake one came with 2 springs

I had a compbrake dv brought off eBay and that came with 2 springs. Was louder than standard but not to loud.

I`ve had a Compbrake one on for about 9 months, superb valve, and the price is right. Slightly noisier than standard, but not obtrusive at all, and the car did feel more `urgent` when changed-recommended

hi all sorry its been so long replying on about test results but had soo many problems with regard of getting the product due to the fact that the batch they have in stock r all faulty so getting a refund and will be getting a forge one instead once my refund has come back

thanks all

Just spotted this thread and thought i would add my 2ps worth.

I had a compbrake dv fitted for a year but have now reverted back to the standard oem dv. I was having issues with my car as it felt like it wasn't boosting properly or holding boost like it should. I fitted a boost gauge to my car and thought i would do back to back tests with a oem valve fitted and the compbrake valve. The boost seems to hold for slightly longer with the oem valve fitted. I carried out some checks on the compbrake valve and it didnt seem to be sealing properly. I know you can get greasing kits for the valves so was maybe planning to do that some time but for the momment the oem valve is working fine haven't had any issues with it.

Just thought i would add my input.

Paul
