Best OEM sty;e discs, I.E. all non contact surface coated?

Featured Replies

What guys would you reccomend are the best discs for the Octavia VRS?

I'd like OEM styled ones (Not drilled/grooved etc), but where the disc is not in contact with the pad, I'd like it coated, so it won't rust...............

I heard a rumour Pagid are painted in this style?

got Zimmermann on mine all round. coated so they won't rust. not drilled or grooved or any of that. they're above OEM quality.

on the other hand i'm not from GB :D

OE ones are, well at least mine were when I bought it a few years ago. Failing that a good high temp paint will work wonders. Recommend Sperex silver in aerosol.

Pagid

I have bosch discs on mine, came coated silver but i also painted another coat of silver on to them and no rust as yet

Are Pagid coated?

I've found a set for £110 delivered :-O.

Pagid are coated. I recommend them.

Try euro car parts. They have 30% off brakes at the minute.

25% off all car parts, all year long for BRISKODA members :)

I'd certainly recommend Pagid, OE Quality (The TMD Group supply almost all VAG vehicles with the original pads and discs) and great value for money!

Plus we are the sole UK importers :)

pagid without a doubt!!!

+1

+1 for Pagid

I have Pagid on mine and they are great no rust at all on the visable parts, they do look a bit odd when you first fit them tho.

I'm sure when I posted about buying the Pagid disks earlier in the year someone on here who workes at TPS said he could easily beat that proce for oem disks....(He never did actually get around to giving me a price tho so I guess anyone can be cheaper if they don't actually want to commit to it).

Had no probs with my Pagid disks anyway even tho the car spends lots of time unused.

call Sere Motors and ask for parts, they do genuine VAG spares for less than you can buy from TPS

Not very well.

Euro car parts is £209.10 BEFORE you take off our %25 forum discount.

Edit:

I should add, that's for Pagid high carbon + pads all round. Given that Pagid is the VAG supplier...

And the consensus is these are exactly the same, not just the same manufacturer?

Pagid from ECP is £156 with discount.

Hi guys,

The difference between the Factory fit parts, and the Pagid Parts is the box - They come off the production line at the same point, get split up into the branding section (they are stamped with the manufacturer logo) and then drop into their relevant box.

Do the parts have the maker stamp on them? The ones on the car when I got them were stamped with the 4 Audi rings on the hub face of the disk.

Hi mate,

Its at the branding point where the items split - 1 batch will get a VAG stamp, and go into a VAG box - The other will get a Pagid Stamp, and go into a Pagid box.

Theres lots of items (like clutches and flywheels) where, the item in the BMW box only have SACHS or LUK markings!

Can we see a pic of the disk with the stamp mark on please? I doubt it is a stamp mark, more like a casting mark. I've worked in production for 20 years, car related for 9 of those.................

As i recall it looked laser etched, tiny dots forming the circle of the audi rings - very precise.

Any thoughts guys?
