Leather seat upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi, im finally going to bite the bullet and get rid of the white and black vrs seats. I know seat surgeons are the fav company on here but has anybody else had any dealing with any other companies preferably in the north west area?

I'd just pop over to York and get them done at Seat Surgeons, and go into York for the day :)

Never knew they were in York.

Roughly how much do they charge for a re-trim?

Come on Phil, have you been asleep? ;) - and see Harry across the road when you're there :)

They're in Upper Poppleton. Give 'em a shout about the Beeza! Think the going rate's around £800.

There should be some amount of discount for a Briskodian. Request a quote here:

Lol. Never really paid attention to their location etc.

Ouch. No way I can warrant 800 notes on that at the moment! A cheaper alternative would be some leather seats from a golf or something.

Not golf, you`ll need to nick some from a fabia/polo/ibiza cupra for yours I think. Golf/Octy are a different runner setup.

I`m looking at getting this done hopefully early next year, and this price seems pretty competitive from the small amount of research iv done, is there somewhere i`v missed thats cheaper?

Matt

Don't think you'll get a better solution for less money elsewhere, personally. Puts it in perspective when you look at the cost of speccing leather in a new car.

Pretty sure it was £700-800 that people have paid previously, I'm sure someone who's had it done will be along at some point to confirm. Think we've also had a GB run with them in the past too.

But agree, you could get an interior fitted from another motor. Nothing springs to mind that would be 'plug & play' though. Golf stuff would fit (Mk4 & 5/6) but would require runner modification on the seats you're fitting.

I'm up for a group buy on seat surgeons leather upgrade

has anyone tried a cloth retrim instead of leather?

I didn't fancy a full leather upgrade, and so I got the full interior out of a Polo TDI Sport. Eight bolts and it's in :)

And I got yours, kicked myself when I realised you had taken the seat belt stalks off and had to taken em back out again..lol

Polo seats do look good. I found a few breakers selling Ibiza interiors, one FR set and a Bocanegra set, wanted less that 200quid.

In 2004 when retrims weren't as available I paid £1200 to a local upholsterer plus £200 extra for the door cards

Haha I did mention it on my for sale thread

Why dont you buy a set of polo gti seats and have that recover in leather then sell your vrs seats

Just got an email back from Paul at Seat Surgeons

Club deals for Skoda are as follows.

Fabia inc VRS £760+ vat

Octavia inc VRS £820+vat

Superb £850+vat

Roomster £720+vat

Prices are for full leather fitted to seats headrests and door trims.

I asked if there is a discount if i paid in cash.

Will let you know what he says as i asked for cash in hand prices lol.

I'm treating myself next April to a retrim in Dark Grey leather with Bentley style stitching from Seat Surgeons in York - Quoted £760 if I paid cash

Seems like cash is the way forward mate. If its £760 cash i think thats very reasonable!

I paid Seat Surgeons in cash last year and it was £760 all in. They do look good, you certainly wont regret having a Seat Surgeons re-trim!

Or if you want a cheaper fix there is a Polo sport interior on ebay for £120 + delivery - or even a 9n3 Polo GTi interior for £300.

that gti looks like a 3 door otherwise wouldve been perfect

Why would that matter?

Exactly! You shouldnt put a 5dr interior in a 3dr as the fronts need to tilt - It doesnt matter about putting a 3dr interior in a 5dr. Just you have the extra lever to tilt the seats - if you aint going to use it - it doesnt matter!
