Newly Lowered

Featured Replies

After 5 months of ownership i finally lowered my Fabia VRS (on JOM coilovers and blew my expectations out of the water) and i never want to go back to standard setup, the handling and looks just brought the child out in me, far better than i expected having never owned coilovers before.

The wheels do need a refurb but at the minute they will have to do :p

Looks sweet mate, was searching for a set of those TT rims over the weekend :)

I was in two minds about those but now it's been lowered I think they work well and thanks

Looking good! i've got a set of JOMs on order to, are they wound right down without the arb hitting the driveshaft?

you will need shorter drop links i have the v-maxx adjustable(£55) ones but ive been told mondeo droplinks(£14) do the job

Looks good, I'm picking some JOMs up this weekend hopefully.. Good to know they're alright!

I ordered JOM's through DPM, paid up and they emailed saying the batch they had didn't come with rear springs and wouldn't be getting mroe until 24th october. So I got a refund and bought hot tuning ones at £160. Should be here next week, hate waiting for stuff! Granted hot tuning wont be as good but for what I want them for they'll be fine.

Any new pics of your car now the coilies have settled mate?

To be honest they look the same don't seem to have moved at all but can get a few more picks

they look good mate, nice ride height and nice wheels. I was going to go down that route but then tried to lift one and realised the weight of them lol.

They are pretty heavy but wheels can be change if needed (pod/trax)

Sits nicely on those alloys my friend. Very nice inporovement on OEM setup :)

cheers buddy

Picking these wheels up tonight off a fellow briskoda member, cant wait :D Just cant wind my coilovers too far down as they have larger tyres on apparently. Wish I bought a red fabia now.

  • Author

Haha yes they do have larger tyres on as mine were straight off a tt 235/40 on rear and 225/45 on front i had these on as a last resort due to getting 2 puncheres at 11pm and going silver stone at 4am was pretty devistated, so swapped my standards to the ronals and to be honest they didnt scrub to much unless going over bumpy roads o and dont put full lock on

Sweet, cant remember what tyres are on mine but I'm sure they'll be ok for a couple of months until I can afford a set of 195/45/17's :) I can't stop looking at the pics of yours mate it sits perfect and the wheels really suit a Fabia roll on 7pm tonight!!

Go to camskill.com dirt cheap got 4 nankangs ns2 (budget but i think they are brilliant) around £170 inc vat

*EDIT* those were 205/40/17

I will never have Nankangs again. Awful tyres, 4 x Goodyears for £400 fitted for me

Hmm what happened to come to that conclution and what car was they on because they seem to be good on mine but my mate had similar opinions he had 1.8 civic vtec

Had them on a couple of my Golfs, were awful in the wet, no traction at all and a friend who had them on his mk3 astra has the sidewall split on the 2 he had fitted. I'd prefer to pay more for a better quality tyre that may last a bit longer. Just had a look on the net and can get Federals for £67 ish each from my tyres. Had them before and they seemed alot better than Nankang for a budget tyre. Hmmm we'll see.

Just looked I'm going to be on 225/45/17 for a while until they wear down...and atleast 1 of them is Nankang :(

Lol well hope fully i wont have any problems with mine they seem like there coping at the moment but it is nice to know these things :/

How hard were the joms to fit mate? I'm thinking of having a go myself!

  • Author

They were not to difficult to fit althought i had a mate that works in a garage so had access to all the tools i needed plus an air gun which makes life easier
