Recommended coilovers ?

Featured Replies

With my wishbone bushes knackered, I thought I'd go for a total suspension rework, looking to fully polybush my car, so naturally wanting coilovers to be fitted at the same time.

Looking for some decent and ideally reliable coilovers (noticed topics on leaky shocks and knocking before on coilovers), as im planning to keep the car for a while longer yet. Am tempted by the JOM coilovers, but at £199, £50 a corner, I doubt they'd last long on the lovely local Norfolk roads!

Budget of 400 britsh beans, although I would push the boat out a little bit more for a better set. (Can't afford anything over £500 though)

Did have AP coilovers on my old Mk5 fiesta zs, and they started knocking after 6 months... :wonder:

Recommend away gents!

I've got AP's on mine, been on for about 3 months i think, maybe 4 and not had problems yet. I had a buget of 400 too and they were the best i could find.

I've found these so far, the Aps might be a poss;

JOM Coilover kit £195

AP Coilover kit £410

FK Highsport Coilover kit £410

Apex RDX Coilover kit £417

V-Maxx Coilover kit £414

Or

KW V1 Basic Coilover kit for £471

My AP's were bag on 400 from Venom's (i think) ebay shop, free delivery, plus you dont have to mess around with new drop links

weitec hicon gt's

I've heard alot of problems with rear leaking shocks on these?

KW V1's - bit extra but worth it IMO

mine have been on fine :D

VMaxx on mine - ride is great but they are clunky as hell - handling much better and loads of drop if you want it

could go about 15mm lower if I wanted - had them fitted as part of a package but kit cost about £400 I think - you need shortened droplinks with these though

Think i'll be avoiding these then, also just read up on the FKs, apprently the ride is as hard as nails.

Reckon is between the APs and the KWs

KW's

My mate has APs on his, great ride.

90% sure that's what I'll be getting when I pick mine up.
