Everyone knows that modding a car doesn't just add value to your cars price upon selling. Yes this has been done very nicely indeed and still stands to be my favourite Fabia on the forum lol! But you'd make more money (IMO) if you broke it and put the standard parts back on...

Hope your not selling up though!

:)

I just said I got offered £9k?

I paid £5k for the car over a year ago

Also my mate is buying a E46 M3 with lots of toys for £2k more than a M3 without the toys... It's worth whatever someone is prepared to pay

Aye but whoever offered you 9k is on drugs

You do get them from time to time

I'm sure you'd argue differently if it was your car Jase, it's as expected from you though

If they're on drugs then surely I would have bit their arm off? tbh if i was selling i'd want more

Eh?

I had mine up at 5.5k and didnt have a bite that was a year ago

Must be in the running for this year's most pointless thread ;)

"How much is my car worth, which I'm not selling?"

I know one thing for sure. My "engine package" is worth way more than the whole car as a going concern....

11 year old fabia TDI PD100? Probably worth barely a 4 figure sum in reality....

Yep and the colour was a huge turn off for me and my mate who was looking at the time so we moved on... Plus I could take bits off my car and make £2-3k+ and still be the same spec as that so not really a fair comparison.

Give you 900

In March this year it was up for the same £6.5k that I paid, I was tempted by it before I found out off here it was previously your car (but went with Awesome over Star, and didn't fancy a trip to Aberdeen). And then Janno said he's just bought it for £4k less than a year later either from the same seller or with another one in between.

Prices are all over the place at the moment IMO, I think there's a lot of people who will accept a daft offer just to be rid, and just as many who'll hang onto an unrealistic price day in day out.

With regards to Luke's a cash offer is fair enough. But don't forget that in straight-swapping an M3, the owner would be saving A LOT in running costs so even though they might be "trading in" a 10k (for example) car, they could be doing that knowing that they're "paying over the odds" they'd make the difference up in running costs for your Fabia quite quickly and they're making the deal more irresistable for you.

I.e. someone offers you a 10k car in exchange and you're flattered that someone thinks your car is worth 10k and accept the trade up to an M3, in reality they just need rid of the gas guzzler at any cost and are quite happy that they only get a 5k car in return because the other 5k will soon come back in road tax/fuel/tyres/insurance anyway since they're not running an M3 anymore.

I'm not convinced what you may have seen on here/youtube does it's life justice, doubt it scratches the surface

Also no expense spared, serviced every 2k miles, thoroughly checked over every month or so...

Popcorn anyone? :)

I'll get in on the popcorn.

A car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

End.

Also no expense spared, serviced every 2k miles, thoroughly checked over every month or so...

to be fair, as hard as it's driven it does appear to get more than it's fair share of TLC and you don't seem to cheap out

Not helpfull to your original question but,

I can see many + points on the Fabia and many - on the GT-R specially with today's economy but f you can go for it you'll love it and never look back!!!

A wishfull GT-R owner

I've driven a MY2011 GTR and it is EVERYTHING they say it is and quite a lot more. 8-15MPG when driven at the UK limit though and 22MPG tops isn't going to get me out of a diesel yet though...

I think one thing this thread does re-enforce is just how well all MK I vRS's hold their value. They are an in-demand vehicle.

The seller had to part with it, but last month it had a service at Litchfield Imports.

While it was in they brought it up to stage 1 (from 470 to about 550bhp) and updated the gearbox to MY11 spec.

I was in two minds about what to post up though as I didn't want people to think I was being a big headed twonk.

Plan was not to post up anything until it arrived on Friday... but I got a bit excited.

You are a big headed twonk. Which is entirely unrelated to the insane jealousy I have right now. Honest. No link there at all. Totally coincidental.

Twonk.

;)
