Another Squeak, Rattle , roll!

Featured Replies

I know there are numerous topics and discussions about noise issues and build quality with the Fab Vrs, but I havent seen this yet on here.

She's just done 2500 miles and has developed a very annoying squeak in the drivers seat. Occurs when shifting in the seat and when cornering, is a very loud squeak when going over speed bumps, even at very low speeds. Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks in advance

i had this very same issue in my mkI

they tried to say i wasnt oiling the seat runners, how that would make it squeak when cornering is anyones guess but thats dealers for you

in the end the changed the seat base and that cured it, happened in my mates too and same cure ;)

Got the same squeak in my Monte Carlo from new. 1100miles on it so far

Nothing like it so far, 7500 km on the clock...

Lol why would the dealer even suggest you had to oil your seat!?! Seriously?

They should work as it should from the day you bought it!

Excuses they come up with is a joke :) hope you sort it out tho buddy!

I don't know if I should go and see a dealer about this or wait until the 1st service, another 7000miles!?! I guess if I wait, they'll question why it took so long for me to mention it and probably tell me it cant be that bad!

i wouldnt wait, for the exact reason youve used

I had this issue - it was because my seat was at it's lowest height setting.

Try raising it up just a notch or two, this solved my seat squeaks completely!
