Replacing Stock Speakers on 58 Skoda Superb II - anyone done it?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've done a few searches and not found anything Superb II related so figured it was worth posting. I want to replace the stock speakers on my RNS510 8 speaker setup as they sound rather 'thin'. I've seen recommendations of drop in Pioneer replacements for the Octavia but no mention of anything on the Superb II. Has anyone replaced their stock speakers (front and rear main and tweeter) with a branded one? Also any experience with sound deadening products like dynamat would be welcome. I'm not even sure where to start with trim removal either (door cards and all that stuff), so if anyone has any links to removal and refitting please post. Assume some trim tools would also be useful along with spare clips for the trim (assume you can get these from the dealer?)...

anyways, please share your upgrade experiences.

thanks.

There are posts kicking about with pictures too. I was going to do mine, but after getting one door trim off I ran out of time so I've still not got it done.

No worries. Spoke to a local installer and can get front and rear fitted along with dynamat sound deadening for about £300 (the speakers and matting alone are over £200 so i think that's a good deal.. will be booking in soon :)

I have also been thinking about changing all 8 of the standard speakers in my Superb. Could you give any more details on the installer & speakers your looking at getting fitted? I would also be interested in getting them done for around £300!

Cheers,

Mark

Tried to get it done today... no dice :-( They got the front trim off to reveal an 18cm custom speaker.. normally they'd be a standard size mount but this too was custom.. none of the normal VW mounts will fit so unless they fashion something from MDF they can't replace the speakers... :-(

I find the speakers to be much better than anything I have had in a car before, the biggest issue is sound deadening. Adding the dynamat to the oem speakers should improve the sound quality no end and remove some of the thinness.
