where is the Diagnostics Port on a 2007 1.9 skoda suberb ( having lots of faults )

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone tell me where the Diagnostics Port is on my 2007 skoda suberb elegance ?

my friend has lent me a obde reader to see if i can find any of the faults i am having on my car :(

Recently i have been having a few electrical faults

passenger door button pops up when i lock doors from inside using the button on the door panel but it doesnt happen when i lock doors with the key fob ?

cruise control sometimes works only at low speeds but never at high speed just keeps cutting out ( i have changed the break switch still the same )

my xeon headlights only work one at a time switch on and left works turn off and on and right works and back off and on left works again but right is off i have to keep turning off and on till both turn on ( here i am getting a faulty light warning on the dash ( this is the only warning / light on the dash i get )

My back inside courtsey light inside the car sometimes work sometimes doesnt again this is the passanger side

If anyone can help me it would be great many thanks Brian

Has your car ever been wet inside? Looks like a case of VAG water torture...

VAG ?

i bought the car only 3 months old and i am a taxi driver so have put quite alot of mileage on the car but the car in my lifetime has never been wet inside and none of the carpets are ever wet

2 years ago i had to have the Convenience Control Unit replaced too :(

i'll vouch for that! lol, mine has done pretty well for being in scotland but i think i will treat it to a silicon seal before winter sets in. especially since i'm getting a new white vrs interior this month! :)

My port is behind the pull down tray took me a minute to realise i just had to rug it down, lol

VAG ?

left my car into the belfast dealership today to finaly find out whats wrong with my car as all these small faults are starting to do my head in :)

they put it on there diagnostic machine and this is what they found

the engine management light ( emmisions workshop ) was due to a MAF SENSOR GIVES SMALLS SINGAL TO ECU ***** To repair replace MAF SENSOR ** PART NUMBER 074906461B Part Price £231.19 inc fitting £351.83 OUCH

The Passenger door lock that pops up when locked from the inside button ** needs new door lock ** this could also be why my interior light works intermitedley when the passenger door opens * PART NUMBER 3B28370152 part price £99.68 inc fitting £231.22 ** double OUCH

Cruise Control works intermitedley - Needs Cruise Control Switch* PART NUMBER BEA500002 Part Price £52.50 inc fitting £174.60 now its getting expensive

headlights Xeon working on and off when they want- well they tell me they where working fine when i left it in and they couldnt get them to work one off and one on and back again but they suspect it to be a Faulty Ballast to repair ** Replace Ballast PART NUMBER 3U0941641 part price £123.55 inc fitting £259.86 ( havent a clue what a ballast is lol )

TOTAL FOR PARTS £608.30 INC LABOUR £1017.51

now the diagnostics didnt pick up that my parking sensors where not working and i forgot to ask about these

or that my car radio signal strength is crap and that i think i need a new aerial or new wire from the radio to the aerial needs replaced

This is a perfect example of what happens if you let a dealer loose on one of these cars. The "dumb" fix.

Any VAG specialist worth his salt (and the survival of his business) will diagnose quickly all of these common faults and source the parts economically. Buy a MAF from Bosch directly and change the microswitch in the door latch, for example. Why throw away a perfectly good door latch for the sake of a microswitch worth 50p?

Always use a good, knowledgeable independent who is motivated to stay in business by using his brain.

That's not the part number for a cruise control switch, that's the part number for a cruise control retro fit kit lol

I would strongly recommend that you get your car checked by Walsh Motors (off the Andersonstown Road). They are VAG specialists and have the latest VAG equipment, are very reasonably priced and def. know what they are doing. I am sure they will get you sorted much quicker and much cheaper then the dealer you visited.

I get all my Servicing and work on my Superb done by them, and am very satisfied and impressed with their work and customer service.
