Im loving this game, but seem to spend all my time trying to beat Neo on rivals. Takes me hours, and just as i beat him, i get a pop up saying he's beaten me back :(

Seriously considering getting a wheel, as you get to a certain point, and a controller just doesn't cut it.

Rivals really is the best thing about the game. Really hits my competitive side. Just a shame im let down by a lack of time and talent

I agree about the rivals features, it is a great addition to the game. I gets very frustrating when people are so many seconds ahead of you and it seems like there is no way you can go any faster.... I was playing it yesterday and managed to get myself in the top 1/2% on some of the tracks. Very pleased.

I spent 55 minutes pounding round Road Atlanta in the R1 Chevy thing trying to beat a friend; which was about 50 laps! AND i only managed to get to a tenth of his time anyway!

Ridiculously addictive!!

It took me 20 something laps to beat Clive in the Lancia on the circuit with all the bloody traffic..

Next day i come on and he's beaten my time.. I can't be arsed to spend another hour just for a tenth of a second and lots of swearing after catching a car on a "fast" lap lol..

I gave up on the Lancia track, no way I was getting anywhere near those times. I now know how ****e I truly am since playing rivals lol

Saw at SWMBO's parent's house yesterday, her brother had a Mk3 Golf VR6 - NEED TO BUY!

Those "track day" event are an absolute pain. The slower traffic are just so dim witted they will always ruin a hot lap by braknig where no one would ever brake so you run into them

I think on one of the autocross ones I got to around 130 in the world and the Road Atlanta one i'm now 300 ish

Seriously though, some of the fastest guys are probably sitting in a full rig with pro steering wheels and pedal boxes, you are never going to catch them on a standard controller.

Getting my copy at the weekend, along with BF3, should be fun.

Particularly like the fact that it displays real reg numbers on the cars.

I do wonder though, how much quicker you'd be with a proper rig rather than a gamepad..

Yup it's an intersting idea but turned it off after a short play.

The driving with kinect is exactly what they planned to do with it - aimed at getting kids playing!

Auto accelerate, auto brake so all you need to do is wave your arms to turn. It works well and is sensitive but nothing more than gimmick to get "families playing together"

The head tracking actually works really well but I found that when sat in my favourite chair is was too far away to be picked up and when sat in my racing chair/steering wheel set up I was too low at first so i mioved the sensor and then as i wasn't 100% perpendicular to the screen/sensor I was constantly looknig off to one side

I do wonder though, how much quicker you'd be with a proper rig rather than a gamepad..

The extra sensivity and detail afforded by using a wheel (even the standard MS one) definitely makes you faster once you have the hang of it,

I reckon the guys with the Fanatec wheels must get the best experience but thats £500 I don't have!!

Have managed to get to level 44 in the career mode now. Checked my stats - Precentage of career completed = 3.5%

Oh and if anyone fancies a Briskoda logo for their car have a look in my storefront
