As above, found a couple of pairs of coilovers for an Octavia can anyone tell me if they are right for a 2004 Mk1 1.9tdi Octy hatchback please? Much appreciated.

And the latter ones are used.

Thanks

TThe first link says mk2 Octavia. Not sure but thought mk5 amd mk6 Golf equated to mk2 Octavia.

Golf 5 / 6 = Octy MK2, and you cannot fit Golf 4 suspension to the Octy Mk1 because the back end of the Octavia MK1 is much heavier than the Golf MK4. Fit the MK4 suspension and you'll get some very weird handling.

We have the JOM kit for £170.00 all in delivered for the Octavia 1U if that's any interest to you?

A friend of mine is actually selling the first set of coilovers so I know what they look like. The 741049's don't fit the Mk1 Octavia, the rear spring platforms are different and the front coilovers have different brackets on them.

A bit of a warning too. I have recently bought some JOM coilovers from DPM Performance for my MK1 Octavia TDI estate (Hi Damian). They are part numbered as 741001 and whilst the front coilovers and the rear dampers seem to fit ok the rear springs/platforms don't really give you enough range of adjustment. On the highest spring platform setting the rear is lowered 65mm. The most likely explanation seems to be that the springs are a bit too short for this application.

At the moment I avoid speed humps and still occasionally have the undertray scraping the road under compression over a bump. Not ideal. The only way around it would appear to be different rear springs or to get a spacer made up to boost the height of the rear platforms.

My car scrapes the under tray on standard suspension on any awkward humps/bumps/cambers/dips etc. so any lowering will only make it worse. The sump is pretty low even with everything screwed up tight! My brother's taxi has been few a few sumps.

No they won't! He's got a diesel.

yes they will.

The weitecs fit all mk1 according to them.

It even has the ARB bracket if he wants to uprate the std to the vRS setup.

So long as the nose weight is not more than 1020kg on the weight plate on one of the front legs in the engine bay.
