Cheers, any idea what make and brand it is ? Castrol edge, Mobil 1 etc ?

Flexible servicing QG1:- VW 504 00

Fixed servicing QG2:- VW 502 00

Quoted from the Handbook, page 210

Hope this Helps

I have used Castrol Edge to 504 spec, get it cheap in ASDA.

I'm currently using 502 spec Quantum oil (VW brand) from a VW parts shop.

I'm on fixed servicing.

As above - Castrol Edge 5W/40. £35.00 From Asda if memory serves me.

VW Spec oil. 5w 30 is fine for top ups but you would be best to Use Catrol Edge or similar 5 w 40 as I posted before thats what the dealer uses in vRS a little thicker oil I believe.

I've it's topped mine up with some castrol edge

Hi, most 502 grade oils are 5-40 and the majority of 504 specs are 5-30, as quite a few cars are now suffering from excessive oil consumption I suggest going to fixed service interval and using the 502 spec oil with a 5-40 grade and see if you can avoid this problem.
