06 Octy vrs gearchange

Featured Replies

Does anyone else find 1st to 2nd a bit notchy on their Octavia Vrs petrol mine is 06 plate done 50k , also engaging 1st when cold seems quite stiff just wondering if there is some kind of adjustment that can improve it, rest of gearchanges are perfect, any help greatly appreciated.

I have this with my 57 vrs diesel. When its warmed up seems fine, first 15-20 minutes seems notchy and stiff.

H,

This guide here will sort you out.

There is a video at the bottom of the page that is very good and has the exact proceedure(check it out first).

You may need to register with the site to gain access but it is a very good site for VAG.

Hoping an adjustment off the dealer will cure it but that will be my next move to change the fluid , good quality fresh oil surely will be an improvement and not expensive to do

My octy is like this when cold,i took it back to garage but they said there was nothing wrong with it,after oil has warmed up its fine. Mine had 11k when i got it,now on 25k & still fine.

Hi all, just spoke to local Skoda dealer said my warranty for used car won't cover an adjustment but not expensive to do a linkage adjustment, the dealer i bought car off is miles away so be cheaper drop it in to local dealer and have it done can't fit it in til a couple of weeks so will post an update when done might even consider the TTS short shifter when sorted as well seen some members on here say good things about them and make a big difference
