Poor Delivery info from SUK

Featured Replies

Reading through those posts concerning delivery times, a thought struck me, why is the quality of the information from SUK and dealers so poor? Buyers seem to be given opinions, rumours and guesstimates about the delivery of their cars , surely SUK receives a continuous flow of data from the factory and should be able to provide much more accurate estimates than it currently does or am I missing something? :wonder:

I thought this post was about SUK monitoring this website, which they do.

sorry for the confusing title. :(

Edited title for you ;)

You can call Skoda customer services and they will give you any information regarding your order that they have. A lot of dealers don't check on the progress of builds unless you prompt them to do so. When I ordered my new vrs SUK customer services couldn't have been more helpfull. My dealer was telling my that my build date had not been allocated when Skoda told me that the car had been built and was waiting at the docks ready for shipping 5 days later I collected my car.

This is an area that SUK need to do some serious work. The dealer that I ordered from has been giving me regular updates on the current provisional build week (which seemed fairly stable then started to slip). When I contacted SUK to enquire about the late delivery compensation they checked the build week and informed me that it was 3 weeks later than what the dealer said. It took a further two weeks before the dealer were informed that the build week had slipped further.

Most of the dealers are doing what they can (they do want to sell you the car after all) but SUK seem to be completely useless when it comes to getting the cars built.

When my Roomster was on order all SUK told me was keep contacting your dealer as they know as much as we do and have access to the same systems. Which I suppose just goes to show the inconsistency in responses from SUK. Finally after my car was delivered and I had complained to the dealer and SUK I was told that someone at SUK knew from the day my car was ordered exactly what the estimated build week was (shame they hadn't told anyone at the dealers this).

It seems, as others have mentioned, the communication between SUK and the dealers is patchy at best and this leads to customers receiving different information depending on who they contact and when.

You'd think the dealers would have the benefit of experience when passing on SUK's delivery information.

Because on the three vehicles I've bought from Skoda dealers over the last year or so each time the information has been pretty accurate. Probably because the dealer has said how many months they are taking to arrive and not exactly what Skoda quoted. They were sensible enough not to give me an exact build week. If I know it's going to be 7 months for a Yeti, then that's fine as I order expecting that.

But it's still a PITA when other brands can be ordered in under half that for a factory order.

Why are VAG lead times soooooo long?

Perfection takes time ;).
