Seriously misguided people

Best comment is from a guy in a Matiz , 90 mph in staffordshire , only problem being he started accelerating in Hertfordshire.

VW's quality isn't up to Skoda standards now. Customer satisfaction surveys prove that, with VW being mid to bottom and Skoda normally in the top ten.

Realistically , SUK, must be wondering what they have to do , to change this perception, funny as i'm sure i will replace mine with another for the first time ever .

Pete, we call them "douchebags" :)

It's the same in most walks of life a bad reputation is very hard to shake off. My wife was horrified when I said I wanted a Yeti but even she came around to my way of thinking after watching Clarkson praise it! We have now had it 5 months and we couldn't be happier with it, the build quality is brilliant and I'm proud to drive it. Slowly but surely others will come to our savvy way of getting a top quality vehicle at an affordable price

******s, the lot of em, I could seriously injure some of the drainers on that page! CHRIST I'M ANGRY

That was a fun read.

Just look at lancia they never lost the rust scandal and gave up here in the end, though they're coming back badged as chryslers now lol

Tbh in some ways I'd say it was a good thing. If the majority doesn't like it, less likely to get nicked, less people are going to crash them = cheaper insurance and a bit of exclusivity. Therefore, making it cool :).

I really could strangle some of the people on the website,

Though one point i must agree with, is that alot of the people i've met who also own skoda's do tend to spend 10mins justifying there skoda to me(assuming i don't have mine with me)

though i did this the other day myself to a young brash Audi A1 owner with the tsfi engine. i had just put him in his place during a traffic lights grand prix, a few minutes down the road we both parked up in the car park! he parked next to me and made the point of quietly saying to me that he wasn't 'actually using full throttle' and he let me get ahead.

i asked him what made him buy the car(he's about 24yrs old), he said he liked the look of them and wanted a small fast car that handled well.

I then explained to him the virtues of the £850 Fabia 1.4 (100bhp) shared alot of the same components, explaining that his 'ALL NEW' Audi A1 was derived from a chassis designed for Skoda over 10yrs ago. he did not like this one bit. IMO he was a bit of a Tart and his character suited the stereotype of an Audi owner.

I am actually all for people buying VW and Audi's, without them paying for their overpriced cars, I don't think the Skoda would have the 2.0 TFSI or TSI engine filter down or the twin-charge 1.4.

Let them buy their VW and Audi and I will continue buying my Skoda's and get all their technology etc for fraction of the price!

I like the idea that my Yeti is almost half the price of the lowest spec Tiguan at the time I buy (Skoda scrappage/swappage)!

A1 drivers are tarty nobs. Period.

LOL the A1 comments are funny. They are bloody hideous looking cars full stop!

In my opinion a Skoda is definitely a car for someone who has more than two brain cells usually exhibited by your average council house chav, and for someone who actually knows a thing or two about cars and the VAG group.

Just owning one proves that you are able to distinguish that 1) they are made from the same bloody parts as the rest of the VAG group and 2) they are a fantastic bargain if you aren't a pretentious badge snob.

And the added bonus is rarity... I see so many Polo GTIs, but have only seen about 2 or 3 other new Fabia vRSs on my travels. I like a bit of rarity, what is the point of owning something when there are already a few parked on your street? Individuality FTW.

Oh and regarding those comments - the old addage springs to mind - "arguing on the Internet is like being in the special olympics... even if you win, you're still retarded".

Well said George!

And female mini drivers (BMW) are usually not the most attractive examples despite them thinking they are gods gift.

Just had a good read through that. 9/10 of them have never even driven a skoda, but haters got to hate!!!

I love schooling people when they realise what I drive is one sweet little motor

Haters become learners

As I've said before I'm not fussed in these haters learning to like Skodas. I once had some feckless idiot slag off my Mk1 vRS saying "it's still a Skoda, nothing special" when they drove a P reg Vectra and he was being serious. Says it all really. Do you want people like this driving Skodas? Let them keep thinking Skodas make bad cars and they'll go off and buy either something boring or a bog standard Audi, probably a 1.6 A3. Audi gains in sales which means more money for more tech which we end up getting.

Gawd! Hope my sister doesn't see this :giggle:

Fair play to her though - she loves my Roomster

A P reg Vectra. Wow, now you're talking. I think one of those raffles at the airport have just sorted one of those out for Novembers raffle, a 1.8 'Arctic' edition with the really tiny mirrors and yellowing headlamps.

What a king chode!

Amazing, isn't it. I've had 1 Audi, 1 Skoda, 5 VWs, and 2 Seats. They are all good cars, yes, the plastics in the A3 were a bit nicer, but lets face it, they are all so much the same. That's why I buy them. When I bought the Leon, I looked at Golf IV, Leon II, and A3 (Octavia is too long). Would have bought any of them at the right price/part-ex offer.

Haha, god I hate Vectras.

I'm inclined to agree. I've had 1 Audi, 1 SEAT and 2 Skodas. Out of them all I'd have to say that the Audi was probably the nicest inside, just because of the better plastics and, as weird as it seems, nicer feeling buttons/interface etc. I think out of them all, the SEAT felt the tackiest. The new furby vRS is spot on inside

They can all bitch and moan as much as they like.

I know I have a reliable, comfortable car that suites my needs extremely well and I have the smug knowledge that I didn't pay through the nose for a badge.

My friend mocked my Skoda for being a poor mans VW. Which is why he drives a SEAT - the even poorer mans VW! Or as he claims - the 'sporty' one. . .

Having had a Skoda and VW Polo the only reason I got the Polo over the Skoda is it's a petrol, not a derv, and there only 'fast' petrol Fabia was the 100bhp one, which I'd just left.
