Superb News!

Featured Replies

My Fleet Manager has just phoned to say that, after a six and a half month wait, the Superb has arrived and I can collect it tomorrow! Even better is the news that they have, after all, been able to supply a car in one of my original colour choices, Rosso Brunello, rather than the 3rd choice colour I thought I was going to have. Apparently the delivery driver commented on how good the 10-speaker sound system was and a number of people at the office have been asking to sit in it.

Nice one :) do you have the ivory interior? I think that colour combo is nearly unbeatable!

No. It's an SE, so black is the only option. Had ivory been available, then I would probably have ticked that box, but with black carpets to cope with its daily life of visiting farms.

that's because the unbeatable colour is black !!!

Nah, amethyst purple. it hides the dirt and is soooo easy to clean, you'll be cleaning yours while i'm out driving and making use of the V6 B)

Great news Jim - you'll have to let me know your thoughts on the SE interior?

Bet your well pleased - photos when you can !!

I'm getting more excited, order placed second week September, expected it to be Feb or maybe March, told it will be here early December. Might not pick it up until 2nd half Dec due to overseas travel; but another confirmation that Greenlines are being shipped out.

Just got back home. I can tell you that 'Superb' is a very appropriate name for the car. It is staggeringly good. Smooth, quiet and comfortable, with surprisingly good get up and go for a tight new engine. It soaks up the bumps very well indeed, but still feels taut through the bends. The interior build quality is, quite simply, outstanding. Significantly better than the Golf or Mondeo that preceded it. Nice touches such as the illuminated air vent controls and the damped action of the column stalks give the car a quality feel. It is fitted with all the extras I ordered, plus the bonus of a satnav system which I didn't order. Quite why anyone would pay an extra £10k for an Audi A6 is beyond me. My only gripes so far are a higher driving position than I would like and the upgraded sound system does not sound as quite as upgraded as I would have hoped. I shall have to have a fiddle with the settings.

My wife has gone to stay with her sister for a long weekend and taken the camera, so you will have to wait until Monday for the photos.

Superb Estate 140CR TDI SE 6 speed

Rosso Brunello with black Alcantara trim

10-speaker Soundsystem

Amundsen satnav

Bluetooth

Heated front seats

Heated windscreen

Auto dimming mirror

Rear sunblinds

Carpet mats

Spacesaver spare

PS - the umbrella was in the door on delivery, too!

Bonus for the "free" satnav then - here's hoping my SE has it also?

Thanks for the update.

About 150 miles today, on a mixture of A-roads and country lanes, with a little bit of urban crawl through Banbury. One of the most effortless and quiet drives I have had in a long time. According to the computer this was all achieved at an average of 50.4 MPG.

I shall have to keep an eye on the speedo when in Gatso-tastic Northamptonshire. It creeps up without me noticing at all.

My Greenline Combi arrived three months early!

You are aware that you will have height adjustable seats, along with recline. along with the reach/rake steering you should quie easily be able to set up the seating to suit you.

A bit of tweaking with the bass / mid / treble settings should easily help you get the best out of the 10 speakers.

My first action upon sitting inside the car was to reach for the seat height control. Unfortunately it was already at its lowest setting. I tried it several times just to make sure, but it will not go any lower. Being used to sitting much lower in a car, I feel as if I am sitting on the car, rather than in it. I am sure I shall get used to it in time.

I have the bass on maximum, the mid on the middle setting and treble on the second lowest setting, but it still sounds disappointingly tinny. I dread to think what the standard system sounds like.

SuperB news: front grille is about to change (according ETKA), starting from the 7th of November. Interesting to see how it's gonna change...

What a shame mine recently left the factory then!

I agree, I have one and live in a rural area with plenty of dust, great colour...
