Hi

I have a 1.6 CR FL octavia with retrofitted maxidot. I have installed the 5K0 unit and it works with Bolero even without coding. However on VCDS scaning it showed an error on CAN and bolero system stating incorrectly coded module etc. I recently purchased a genuine RossTech cable but have not registered. I know another member have similar combinations but was coded by dealer and he does not have VCDS cable. Any suggestions regarding coding the unit to integrate with maxidot and without any errors.

Many thanks

have you ticked phone address 77 in the gateway?

also go into the unit and find out what the coding is

Also for your Rain closing

Look at your BCM long coding the option should be in there if your BCM supprots it. It will also require the RLS to be coded for it too

Thanks Ed for the reply. TBH I did not scan after maxidot retrofit. Will do soon and post the details for suggestions.

Hi Folks

Reinstalled 5K0 ----B unit on FL octavia. To my surprise the 5K0 bluetooth unit (used one from ebay) works well with retrofit maxidot without further coding. It came off from a golf mk6. deleted previous user name. couple of fault codes on scaning with VCDS. Can someone suggest how to rectify them. These faults cam back after clearing them. Many thanks

Try to change the byte in the coding for the phone base plate and set it as no base plate is fitted.

You need to update the installation list to tell the gateway it has a telephone module, just tick the box for 77-Telephone in the coding or installation list option.

Before you do anything make sure you have made a backup of all the original coding values!

Hi guys, Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm just about to buy a bluetooth module for my Octavia vRS and have made arrangements for a professional fitter to install the unit (don't want to bugger up any plastics). The only thing that I'll need to do is have the unit coded to the car with vag-com.

Is there anybody in Northamptonshire or Bedfordshire with vag-com who has done this already that might be able to help me out, once I have the unit installed?

Thanks in advance,

Damian

Even sorrier to revive an old thread, but it makes more sense to cross reference with earlier posts this way than by flooding a new thread with links.

I've fitted an Amundsen + (DAB & BT) in place of the Swing unit in my Fabia Mk2 FL (2011 1.6 tdi SE - with extra factory options fitted, such as extra speakers, electric sunroof and cruise control) and can't seem to get it to recognise the phone functionality; receiving the following message from the head unit, when selecting the "PHONE" button:

"Telephone operation is not available. To connect telephone select Setup or telephone menu in MFD"

The MFD doesn't give access to any telephone menu, whilst the setup function has access to the phone greyed out, on the touchscree,

and I've followed the coding instructions shown in this link:

Bluetooth telephone coding

It still won't recognise the phone functions on the Amundsen +.

VAGCOM scan from earlier today shows :

I'm pretty certain the Address 19 and Address 77 issues are dealt with up thread (the open circuits on the various antennas / aerials  are due to the delivery courier having delivered them and the trim panel removal tools to the wrong address and them needing to be connected, but the microphone open circuit is a bit worrying as the green connector block for the mike is present in the quadlock connector slot - perhaps the mike isn't fitted inside the courtesy light.)

Am I right in thinking the speaker coding option, in Address 37 must be incorrectly set, even though the speakers are working fine?

Having tried searching all the retrofit threads, I'm scratching my head, more than a little bit (not good when you're already going bald :) ), as others have reported they just plugged the satnav unit in and coded Address 37 byte 3 bit 5.

Any pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated.

Funny thing happened tonight. I'd entered the long code suggested for the telephone address and the shorter CAN gateway coding, last night and reset the Amundsen +  to factory defaults (it has valid MAC address, which indicates a BT module is integrated).

I'd turned on the BT on my phone, as I was going to pair it with my Tom Tom, as I was expecting a rather important call all day. The phone is already paired with another Amundsen + unit; which is in a Rapid Spaceback which I sometimes use to cabby a disabled relative around in, and the phone picked up a "Skoda" device.

As  I know the default PIN, I thought, what the hell, and paired with it.

Entered the default pin and, hey, presto, the BT module, and onscreen display came to life.

Quick call from my data only phone to the paired phone and I found out that the car already has a microphone fitted in the front courtesy light / sunroof controls. Works through the speakers and comes up on the MFD / Maxi dot (only problem now is I can't figure out how to get the latter to display the default trip computer listings).

Really unexpected result.

Just got to find get the antenna &  aerial delivered tomorrow, and I can finish the install, and fit the Superb MFSW, with the loom EdNL supplied, and that should be everything.
